I worry with real ones about bell's little feet getting the needles in them.

She cant help herself when there's a tree in the house you see! We can only put plastic baubles towards the bottom of the tree as they are all toys to her!

My Mam's friend's cat just lives in the tree. She jumps out of it when people aren't looking....!

They had them on display in John Lewis last year and they're not my thing lol. Here's a pic:

We had a real tree last year (our 1st one) and it was lovely! We didn't have too many needles on the floor though (the kids were very good and didn't brush against the tree loads) but I guess it's different when you have pets around. Not too sure about this year. Might get a real one again?! Or maybe not lol. We have our fake 6ft one up in the loft.

Robert and me found out that these trees were designed for people with very little floor space.... The idea is that with the wider bit of the tree at the top, it won't take up as much space! Apparantly. I still think they're hideous though!

Heighly Gate Garden Centre (Near Morpeth?) have some nice ones Gemma, if thats any good. Some of them are a bit pricey though... My Mam spent £119 on our new tree!

We had a Scots Pine and were told that they loose very few needles. The farm was right and I'd be suprise if more that 6 fell the entire time it was up

Thats not bad really for a real tree.... My friends house is always covered in needles and their tree is only up for about 5 days!

Ours is usually 12 days before and 12 days after. Although I'd have it up earlier

I get to put mine up 1st December - DDs birthday is at the end of November so get that out of the way first

I think we pay a little more for a non-needle drop but from what I've seen it's worth it. Don't know what it will be like with DD crawling around this year, she's one of those kids who is in to everything! The other two didn't seem to notice it at that age!

Mine goes up earlier each year! I love seeing my Disney decorations out!! I think I put it up December 1st last year!!

Snap. We do the same, although one year we put it up earlier and in the photos you could see it had wilted badly under the weight of decorations and old age.

Another vote here for a real tree. We pay a bit extra to get a non-drop. It's my birthday at the end of November, then 1st December is buying tree day. It usually comes down on the 27th or 28th though.
