My parents have a week that they cannot use at the new Marriott on St. Thomas and they are going to lose their week completely if no one can use it (April 7-14 is what they have booked). My family can use it, but we can't stay the whole week (we can check in on Satrday, but we would be checking out on Wednesday). How would we book that through Marriott? Is it worth it to do that?

Thanks!

You have to reserve the whole week, and just leave early. When you check in you can tell them you're leaving early.

The unit will just sit empty the rest of the week.

Marriott does allow splitting a week into a 4-day and 3-day, but I'm pretty sure the 4-days go Sun-Wed and the 3-day goes Thu-Sat., or possibly Mon-Thu, and Fri-Sun. That's a feature we never used before. But it appears in your case with a Sat-Tues stay inclusive, it's the wrong 4-days anyhow.

Of course, there's a fee to split the week, and if they couldn't use the other 3 days anyway, there'd be no advantage to doing that.

Thanks so much for the response. We would stay the whole week, but the airfare goes up a ton if we stay until Friday. We would use our FF miles to get us down, but the return is a blackout date. So what I think that we are going to end up doing is going down on FF miles and pay for a 1 way ticket back. It's only going to cost us $684! OMG! I am so excited!

We were planning on going next year to St. Thomas to stay at this brand spankin new Marriott, but we get to go in a month now! Woo Hoo!
