OT: FL residents I need your help.

Hey friends. I have a sister in Port St. Lucie. Even though we've known this for years, she and her husband have finally drawn up the paperwork naming me as custodian for her children. When she gave the paperwork to her MIL, the response she got was "Well she will have a fight on her hands." Now circumstances being what they are, it would really be a no brainer, the MIL is unacceptable (just take my word for it), but she's local and I'm out of state. So I can totally see her heading straight to court long before I could get there. Can anyone recommend a local family law attourney, that I could get in touch with should the worst happen?

If your sister and your bil aren't terminally ill, I wouldn't worry about it. The papers are drawn up, and the court will go by them. The chances are nothing is going to happen to your sister and her dh, so do not worry about it. Have your sister give you a copy of the papers, put them in a safe place, and just go on with your lives.

Do yourself a favor and stay in contact with her and her kids and keep the relationship up, and you will not have to worry about it.
