Does anyone have this camera? I found one at the consignment store yesterday for $10. (Of course, I haven't been able to get it to work yet!)

My dd is 6. She is pretty careless and has a tendency to drop things. This is why I am not considering an inexpensive "real" digital camera.

So if anyone can provide the pros/cons of this camera, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

I got my son one and he LOVED it. The picture quality was horrible and now the thing won't even come on no matter what we do but he is still asking about it.

We had one for DD(then5), and it was horrible! The cover for the batteries snapped off and wouldn't close - the picture quality was, well, let's say that she could have drawn a better picture. With one hand. In a mitten. Yeah, the pictures were really bad. Didn't hold many pictures internally, and to get the card out you needed to open this door on the back, which seemed extra difficult for us.

Well, I'll stop ranting. But you get the idea - we didn't like it. Then again, for $10 I wouldn't be complaining. I think we paid about $50 when they first came out.

I agree, the picture quality is terrible, but ten again it is better than paying a fortune to develop a disposable one to find out half of the shots are of the ground/sky or someone's shoes :lmao:

I got my ds one last year for Christmas & I must agree, picture quality is terrible.

Good point - at our wedding there were disposables at each table. My 8 year old niece got a hold of one and we had 18 pictures of toilets :rotfl2:

Picture quality is bad, and the batteries die very quickly. but for $10 what the heck!

An alternative that I've done for my 13 year old (who is careless and drops things, lol) is to buy an outdated regular digital camera from someone who's upgrading. (I also have bought a couple at Goodwill for under $10.) He takes them on his boy scout camp outs and if they get trashed, I don't worry about it. Comparable price to disposables, better pics {even the old 3mp ones} and he can take a bunch on memory card.

My youngest has had it for 2 years now and she loves it. The pictures don't always turn out great but some do. She may be getting a regular inexpensive digital camera soon and she loves taking pictures. I have not had the problems with the battery cover or the batteries not lasting. I would say to contact Fisher Price if you still can't get it fixed as they may be able to tell you what to do. I have found just contacting them often helps.
