It seems a shame the way your shifts work out - will it mean you'll get Christmas/New Year off next year or will it be a case of 'wait and see' what your shifts are then?

Wait and see I think. There should be 4 of us on, but I'm the Duty Network Manager so I told them I'd cover monitoring as long as one of them had a mobile switched on and stayed sober ! Someone else's turn next year

I think it's only fair that if you've had to do Christmas and New Year one year that someone else takes a turn the following year. You have my vote!
