I don't seem to be making the amounts of money that others are, I'm making far less.My queries are coming in back to back so I suppose it's just a matter of being faster.
I think I'm doing better though. I couldn't answer anything in under 3 minutes my first couple of nights. Now tonight I've gotten most in at 3 minutes and some even in at less than 2 minutes.
The sports queries really slow me down. I don't know anything at all about sports. Oh, and weather slows me down too.
One good thing - I can wear my jammies and work!![]()
My first two weeks I was slow! I only made $2-$4 an hour (at .15--old rules). Then I got bumped up to .20 and avged 30 an hour. I stayed at that $6 an hour rate for about 3 months. Just now am I moving up to 40-45 an hour or $8-$9 an hour!!!
I have attempted to register as a guide. I verified my email address and was sent a link to log on to the Search University so I could start studying and take the guide tests. I keep getting errors that say "Sorry, that username or password was wrong.".I tried doing combinations of the user ID, in case I had bad spelling when I registered and such. Since they have my SSN, I can't re-register (That would be the easy thing!).
No replies to requests I've sent through the "Contact ChaCha" through their website. The 800 number is of no help- they just point you back to the website to send a notice through the "Contact ChaCha" page.
I'm getting frustrated, but trying not to loose hope (it's been 6 days since started the journey to become a guide).
I'm also curious how other guides plan on paying for taxes for this year. As a contractor, ChaCha won't be withholding... does that seem to worry anyone? (I hate when I owe the state or feds).
Thanks for your assistance![]()
Can you try re-registering with another email? Also, the underground was having lots of problems, you might see if your login works now.
For taxes, I put 30% in a separate savings account as soon as they are deposited. Its like regular withholding for me. I figure 15% federal, 7.5% SE tax, 3.07% PA, and 1.35% local. We rounded up to 30% to be safe. Last year our return was HUGE, so probably come tax time we'll just move this whole sum to regular savings, but its better to be safe than sorry!
