OT: ChaCha

Did anyone else get an email about becoming a ChaCha expeditor? I applied to be a guide, but never finished the application. I was a little weary. Yesterday I received an email asking me to apply to be an Expeditor.

Is ChaCha really as good as it sounds????

I've made $900 this summer with ChaCha and I didn't put in all that many hours with it. So, yeah, it's as good as it sounds.

I asked the same question. The answer is that it is a brand new position. I've been trying to log on since yesterday morning to get the process going, but it says my user id has been suspended. I e-mailed them to see what the problem is, but haven't received a response back. Let me know how it works for you.

I started on July 11th and I have made a total of $405. I do have a full time career, so I basically do this on the weekends. I figure it would pay for school supplies, school uniforms, etc.
I don't enjoy it all that much. I will probably stop working for ChaCha soon. I get way too many sex questions, and questions I know nothing about (i.e. jewish, auto mechanics, sports). Some of thise questions take too long to find an answer to.....not worth the 20 cents.
It is real though...I have gotten paid!!!

So if you get a QC email are you automatically out of the running for Top Guide?

i'm wondering about this too...i had 941 searches, but i also got 2 QC's this week-my first ones in about 6 weeks!

Be warned-- expeditor seems to pay much less than Guide and will require an almost constant flow of questions and very quick answers on your part to make more than 3 dollars an hours.

You aren't automatically disqualified from Top Guide for a QC email - at least from my understanding. You have to have over 95% accuracy, so if you did 1000 searches, you could theoretically get 50 QC emails before you'd have to start worrying.

Of course, the problem is that you don't always get a QC email for every mistake you make, so you can't assume that 2 QC emails = only 2 mistakes. I'm baffled as to why this is the case, but c'est la vie.

I got the same expeditor e-mail and suspended message too! I e-mailed them as well and will update if I hear anything.

You know, now that school is back in (at least around here it is), I've noticed that I'm getting a lot of definition questions and literature information questions. Hmm..I think I just went back to high school and didn't realize it! Oh well, those are easy-I'll take them all day long!

I got a QC yesterday too. It say "who is XX." So I found info on zaba. I put his name, address and phone. And the standard "thanks for using ChaCha!". Want to know what the sent me the QC for? Presentation! OMG I was so pissed. It's ridiculous. All the info was accurate and they send me a QC on presentation?!? Do you have any idea how many responses I see that look exactly like mine on an average day? Dozens! I highly doubt they are sending everyone one. I swear they are trying to make it so that people can't make top guide. I'm almost to the point of being so fed up that I might just stop doing it.

Anyone know how to get them to stop texting you when they have high volume? I want to stop the text message high volume alerts.

Not a thing. Reason was just "presentation". If it had actually included a reason or an example I would not have been so annoyed. That's the way all their QC's are though.. totally generic and with no explanation usually.

I received a ChaCha QC e-mail. My first in over 3,000 searches. They provided me no reason why I was wrong. I sent them feedback and told them I was right and they were wrong. That was over a week ago and still no response. I think their QC is too vague.

Wow, I'm at 2,000 and never got one, but I'm worried about getting one. I would be so upset though if they didn't tell me why (unless of course it was obvious, like I mispelled a world.) Once I said "According to the 200 census..." Wrong because we aren't supposed to say "according to" and because it was the 2000 census.

Where did you read we aren't supposed to say according to? I have read and watched everything and I don't remember that! I wish they would have one page with their rules! Just have them bulleted! I think sometimes we are supposed to just figure out obscure rules!

And in that case I think you have to say according to the 2000 census b.c they need to know the data is 8 years old!

OMG! I didn't know we couldn't say "according to". I've been using that phrase. Not a lot, but I have used it. Hopefully I won't get a QC. Haven't had one yet, knock on wood.

Also, how do you report a bad answer? I've seen some really awful ones lately. This morning a guide replied to an IS "I don't have a fricken Crystal Ball." That should not be allowed to go on!

I chose the pay monthly option for 2 reasons. First, there are no fees involved. At only .10 or .20/text, I wasn't willing to pay extra fees. Secondly, I think I would be more likely to piddle the money away on a debit card. This way, it comes in once a month, I transfer it to ING and don't touch it till vacation.

Just my .02 cents!
