You're not stupid. Could be lots of reasons. My very bright niece did not pass the first time. She waited a week or so, set up a new email address, and registered again. She passed the second time and is getting ready to take the simulator test.

This answer makes me feel a little bit better. I just took the tests but in the ChaCha knowledge part, I got a message saying something about my proxy server, so that probably invalidated all my answers. Maybe I can try again down the road??

I've been getting questions that led me to websites that tried to attack my computer (Norton caught it). This happened to me 3 times last night!

I was getting lots of those a week or so ago. There was no way to answer the questions-it was like it was "set up" to go to the site. I kinda wondered if it was unhappy people sending in the requests. I was going to "ask the dean" but blew it off.

I am considering clearing out as soon as the pay me now button appears. My heart hasn't been in it since I basically got 2 pay cuts in one week. I don't like how they keep "moving the cheese" on the guides without having a transparent QC system in place.
I thought I would enjoy the job and I did in the beginning but I don't like the sex questions and since I am a teacher I am not comfortable giving even "cleaned up" replies to people who may or may not be minors.
The money they are paying isn't worth the risk to my laptop, the effect it could have on my teacher certifications(there are decency/moral turpitude stipulations) nor do I want to those sorts of sites on the history on my computer that I will be using it in my classroom or at school.
If there was a way for ChaCha to keep it clean, then I would be more excited to work.

I just started this, but by reading someof the "View History" answers, I'm wondering what some guides are doing. I try really hard to find good answers and good websites. Maybe I'm trying to hard because many of my times are 4 and 5 minutes. Anyway, for example, someone will ask about how to make friends and the guide says, "I will be your friend." What kind of website could they reference for that? Some of these answers I can't imagine what people are referencing???

That's because they aren't, Maggie. I think some people just think that even if they are making 1/2 of what top guides make, if they just throw out BS answers really quick, they can essentially make the same as those of us that actually try to find an appropriate answer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- I am sick to death of the holier than thou responses. I got a query for an IS that said "Dang, chill out dude!". I checked the history and the IS asked in the previous question if their brother was watching porn on tv. Previous Guide went into a rant about how porn destroys marriages, creates unrealistic views of sex, against god, blah blah.. DON'T DO PORN!! I was like woah, no wonder the IS was upset. It was totally uncalled for. I was most shocked to see it was from a guy. Anyway, he obviously never answered the question and just spewed his sanctimonious BS on the IS. I've seen it more and more lately. It's like the fanatical are becoming guides and throwing out their beliefs. I would be pretty pissed if I got a response like that. My only hope is that the are getting slammed with QC's. I know I got one recently for not finding a phone for a restaurant (which, btw, was not the right name, nor was it spelled correctly and I still got a QC for not finding it! ) so I sure as heck hope something like those responses get one!

I think the key phrase in that sentence is "good answers". But, yes, I agree wholeheartedly!

I just got on aas an apprentice guide and am having fun with it but the answers are lengthy to find sometimes and it is my understanding that it should take less than 5 min to find an answer and that is challenging to get a good answer. Very time consuming 2 days or 9 hours for 23.00 oh well we shall see

I believe they like to see under 3 mintues? Either way, I agree. Sometimes you get really lucky and get a ton of super easy questions like definitions. But a lot of times it involves a bit (or a lot!) of research.

One more day until we know next weeks top guides. I hope you all make it! I'm not too hopeful on myself b/c of those QC's (even if I totally think 2 are bunk!).
