I've been a guide for about 10 days and I'm making, realistically, $5/hour depending on the complexity of the questions. I typically log on from 10-11pm and the questions come pretty much non-stop. I just go for the hour and see how I do - usually I complete around 20-25 questions. It's fun and the variety of the questions is amazing! Although it can take some time to shrink a full answer into 160 characters. I've learned some creative abbreviating... :rotfl:

My goal is to make $100/month so I hit the payment threshold for direct deposit. :cool1:

DH was rolling his eyes at first when I told him it was $.20 per question, but now that it's adding up he gets all excited when that little doorbell sound goes off. It makes it easier for us to budget... ie, that can of soda is 4 questions! Drink tap water, it's free! :lmao:

I've been doing it for 11 days and just got to $150 tonight!

I am so excited about this. If I can keep it up that'll be $300/mo. I just work early in morning or late at night.
I haven't kept up with the hours ~ it goes so fast!
:rotfl2:

I agree. It's the easiest way I've found to make money . . . and just for surfing the internet. Plus, I'm having a blast! I can't tell you how much I've learned myself doing this. Tonight has been a good night too--not one "off color" question. I'm only at $80, but I had a few nights this week where I was not able to work. But to make money for Disney, I will get my butt in gear! :cool1:

I passed on Thursday night!!! I worked on and off thursday and a little on Friday and am up to $30.00.

I wasn't into it last night but will do some today. I am not saving up for anything specific, just to help dh out a little bit.
maybe some furniture!!

I'd love to make a min of $100-$200 each month so I better get working.

Ha, I didn't buy a coke at my real job last week because it was 5 questions :)

Hi all! I've been lurking on this thread and the information provided has been great.

Just received my email saying I passed my simulator test. I can't tell you how excited I am! Will start taking real questions later tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Good for you! I'll be online tonight too :)

I'm probably averaging about $4-5 an hour. I take 2-3 minutes per question, so even if I'm constantly answering, I'm not doing more than 30 an hour.

I did hit $150 yesterday on my 11th day! My original goal was $500 for our October trip. I'm still targeting that for now - I'm hoping to be able to buy some cool Christmas gifts on our trip though, so perhaps whatever I go over $500 can be for that!

I'm just excited about it in general - though I need to start looking at the tax implications.:headache:

Have fun doing the ChaCha everyone!

Yeah - I'm curious about that too. I assume they don't send a W2 - do you get a 1099 since you're considered an independent contractor? Is there a minimum amount you have to earn before they send a 1099?

For those who are making 4-5 an hour, do you have your main sites boomarked? That helps a lot. For jokes, directions, dirty comments or does bobby love me questions I go to the same sites every time. As the page loads I hit the cite button then page it in after the little box loads. I do jokes in about 40 seconds which helps with my average.

.....I hit the cite button.....

I'm not sure I know what button you mean?

Do you push the "Search" button first?

I'm not really used to Firefox. I don't think I even know how to find the things I've bookmarked????

---
By the way, I LOVE your new photos of your little one!!:cutie:

Thank you!

When I find a good page when searching I go to Bookmarks then Bookmark this Page then I save it in a ChaCha folder. Then when something pops that I know will be on a saved site, I go to my bookmarks and skip the search. When it is loading, I hit the save as result button so the little window loads when the big page is. Then I look for my info (I 90% cut and paste the info from the site) and I am done.

Is anyone willing to share some good relationship type sites to use when someone asks stuff like when they'll get married or if they will marry so and so.

I've been using the magic 8 ball but something with more substance would be nice too.

I just to the simulator test.

Some of the questions had HARD to find answers- 2 of them took 6 minutes to find a specific answer to (like the exact name of the high school that a basketball player from the 80's went to).

There were a few easy ones, who is GWB, who was Reagan's first wife... hopefully they will take into consideration the fact that I did a bunch of them in under 2 minutes and a few of them took a lot longer.

I would LOVE to do this!! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I go to the same sites frequently and I usually just type the address in the address bar. Can you bookmark the ChaCha joke site? I like it because all the jokes fit in 130 characters or less!

I need to mess around with the bookmarks too because I'm not accustomed to FireFox. For the longest time I was trying to add sites as ChaCha favorites, but apparently that feature is disabled. I don't seem to get very many joke inquiries, or even opinion ones. I get a ton of video game cheat questions that I have to search high and low for!

As for taxes, I think you get a 1099 if you earn more than $600. I'm not as concerned about income tax, but I'm more confused about like social security and payroll tax.

I'm bumming, b/c I think I bombed the Simulator test. I'm smart too, dangit! ;) I don't know what happened, but I kept getting "Session terminated" while I was in the middle of an answer? It happened about 6 times - I had to answer 21 questions to hit my 15. I hope it was a glitch and I hope they take that into consideration.

I never got stumped, but a couple of weird questions took me a little longer than 3 minutes. I did discover you can't use the back arrow key on a certain page or it does end your session. Yikes.

If I make it, it will be a miracle. And some of my answers were humorously perky too. We'll see. How long is the wait to see if you made it?

Be brutally honest ladies - do you think I'm out? How many people didn't get in after their Simulator test? Do you get a second shot?

So, I finally got my ChaCha debit card in the mail today and was so excited. That is until I went to the link that the bank gave me to log into my account and it won't work!

It took me a long time to get the card or even the first email and now this...guess I'll have to call the customer service line...just a little frustrated!:headache:

I was able to log in the first time with no problem, but then I forgot my validation questions and got locked out!

Customer service was quick & good though - I did it through email and it was taken care of within a couple of hours.

Good luck!

:sad2: I was told they did not have any current positions for me :sad1: I think it may have been the typing speed. I use to be super fast (I was a temp secretary) and then I graduated and got a "real" job...I noticed my typing was not as fast as it use to be now. Of course I am getting older too :rolleyes1
I am so bummed. Anyone know how long you have to wait to try again?
