If you suddenly came across a LARGE sum of money (say $10 mil or more) what would you do with it??

1) Pay off all my bills. :yay:

2) Make my church, some (but not all) of my relatives and friends very happy. :lovestruc

3) Pay for a two week Grand Gathering for all of my Dis-Board friends, to be held at FtW!!!:grouphug:

4) Give BDR $$ to finish the GECKGHOST!!! :thumbsup2

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

 LOL.......the fact that THAT even popped in your mind just goes to show how great a broad you are!!!!

Hmm, maybe I will win lotto tonight and....

1)Pay off all my bills and my parents' bills so they can retire and be happy.
2) Pay off all my sister and b-i-l's bills so they can live a happy life and not stress.
3) Buy me two cool dogs, another lab and an english bulldog (i love my sister's e.b. and i still love my lab of 13 years that died a couple of years ago)
4) Start a foundation where teens can go and "hang" without getting in trouble and help them out with problems.
5) Refurb our RV to make the inside AU/Disney happy and modernize the systems inside.
6) Stay at FW for the whole summer I am off work. I can't stop teaching and coaching, even if I had to! DH is another story...
7) Find someone to help run my foundation when I am at the fort.
8) help Deb pay for the Grand Gathering.

get the biggest RV you ever saw, travel from May thru Sept, buy Debbie's Rv port home, spend winter at home and lots of time at the Fort, free beer for all the Dis visitors. All the while helping a select few.....Denise

I'm like everyone else.....
1. Pay bills
2. Splurge on FW stay(s)
3. Help out family

The 3rd one was really thought provoking for me. Just how much to give? Get everyone out of debt? Set them up in a "cushy" lifestyle? What about when every in-law, outlaw, kissing cousin, and ex nephew twice removed shows up "needing" something?

1. Same here on the 3rd statement.....however, my mom and brother I would surely help pay off and set up comfy and rebuild our church.

2. Pay off our bills and build a house and build the mac daddy of all garages for my husband, big enough of course to house that brand new truck and fiftth wheel.

3a. Set up college funds and savings for the chilrens and our little nest egg for retirement.
3b. Set aside time and money for winters at the Fort.

It's a little early in the day for thought provoking...but I'll play ;)

I would:

1- Pay off our bills
2- Set up savings accounts for the kids
3- Help out my family and friends
4- Get a group of people together and go SKYDIVING
5- Take a year off and see the world

Pay bills..like everyone else..invest so it lasts.

provide for my kids..although I'd want them to work..but be comfortable..and share with my siblings.

Then...I think I'd like to maybe just do things and help people out..without them knowing. In little ways..just to see how they react. Sort of like a secret Santa! Just make the daily grind a little easier once in a while for hard working people trying to get by the best they can.

Wouldn't it be nice to leave a $100.00 tip for a waitress working nights at the diner?...Or pay for someones school books for college that semester..without them knowing?
Things like that...just to put a smile on a face that day!:cutie:

Oh..and if anyone's interested or won the lottery last night..my daughters books were about $500.00 this semester! LOL!

I WOULD NOT pay my bills....as a matter of fact, Id call EVERY credit card I have and TELL THEM that I just got a huge chunk o'change and I have decided not to continue paying their monthly dues....what are they gonna do, report me to the credit agencys and ruin my credit???? Who needs credit....I got cash!!!! Bite me equifax and experian and whatever that 3rd one is.....ok, I WOULD pay my doctor bill...he might be ONE guy to NOT piss off. But as for every other bill....I GOT YA 19% INTEREST RIGHT HERE!!

I would go on a Kungaloosh binge and then sort it all out after.

Unfortunately I would have to quit my job! Well not completely unfortunate but, once it got out that I was a rich my employer and I would constantly be under lawsuits..thats how some people are. I am sure people would crash into me intentionally then try to get money out of us!

1- I would def invest a large amount right away so that I could try to live comfortably off it.

2- Pay off my mom's and sisters bills.

3- pay off my bills

4- Invest some more for kids education

5- would have to take a summer in the Fort!

I'm not sure I'm completely up for thought right now....BUT, I would certainly put something away for the kids college, pay off the house, pay off parent's homes, make sure we have a little something for the future, and definitely give to our church. Aside from that, it is all about making memories. For my family and others. I completely agree with Phyllis....what an amazing thing it would be to make someone's day! So simple, too!

A Dis gathering would be in order! ;) Maybe we could even work out a private campfire/movie!

As far as helping your family out. I think you can only give folks $11,000.00 per year per person before it becomes a tax bite to them, so consider that.

As to what we'd do

Pay everything off

Put up the rest of the college money

Buy/build a new house with a big enough garage (8 1/2 foot door) to store the camper

Hubby would retire immediately

I would retire as soon as the kiddos were finished with college. (Even with $10 mil, family health insurance offered by my company is too valuable to let go till they're on their own.)

Invest the rest for the future.

I don't know how much I'd give to my family. The ones that would use it wisely don't need it. The ones that need it, would blow it and drain us dry if we let em'

Well said, relatives would be coming out of the woodwork wouldn't they. And the one's that didn't need it would still have their hands out. I always said I would take a percentage of the winnings, put it in a trust fund, under my control. I would set up the distribution of the dividends in percentage to each deadbeat, errr :scared: I mean relative. Relative x gets 10% each year of the dividends alone, that way, they get money every year, but I get to keep the principle.

As far as the party at the fort, It would be HUGE! I would pay for about 20 of you dis'rs to come party for a month! Now you guys need to figure out which 20 and start sucking up accordingly.:lmao:

How's that for sucking up!!

Deb ♥

Check, one down, 19 to go!!!:lmao::rotfl2:

Sounds like my family. I have two older brothers, they both still live with my mother!!! My lil sis and I have both been out of the house since we were 16, and have done well enough for ourselves. I love my mother....but cant even imagine living with her at my age!!!! Maybe we wouldnt have left home so early if our brothers werent there acting like our superiors, when even at 16 we were obviously more mature than them.
