Blackwoods CG in Acadia National Park Maine is beautiful, but some would consider it primitive. It has no hookups, and you have to shower at a concession across the street from the entance. There are flush toilets and sinks in the CG bathhouses, but not showers. The scenery is surreal in its beauty. A short walk (1/4 mile at most) to the cliffs by the sea. Bar Harbor, a short drive from Blackwoods is a great resort town, and there are so many NP-related ranger walks, boat trips, etc., that you couldn't do them all in a month. Bicycling on the carriage paths (miles and miles and miles) built by John D. Rockefeller is incredible - wide, flat, and gently graded.
