Looking for a good calorie counter app. I would like one to show how many calories in foods and track exercise.

Any one help. Thanks

I think Lose It! is pretty great. It tracks by day and week. Based on weight, height, gender, how much you want to lose and how quickly, it determines your daily calorie requirements. You can add exercise each day. At the end of the day, it tells you whether you're over, have met, or you're under your daily total. It's cumulative throughout the week - so if you're over by 100 calories on Monday, but under by 100 on Tuesday, the weekly total for those two days makes you even.

A few of the foods listed are incorrect (a cup of cheerios in the app is 133 calories, versus the 100 listed on the box). It's an odd thing to be off. But for the most part I like the app. It's the only one I know of that tracks by the week - so you're bad one day, you can make up for it the next. There may be others, it's just the only one I know of. User friendly, too.

You might get good responses checking over on the WISH board too.

Definitely MyFitnessPal:thumbsup2.

Once you program your height, weight, age and activity level, you tell it what your goal is...lose 1 pound/week, for example. Then, it tells you how many calories you can consume each day. For me, I am allowed 1440 calories per day. Each time you eat, you just enter in the food and it subtracts your calories consumed from your allottment. There is a huge database for restaurant foods and there is also a scanner that lets you just scan a bar code and it automatically pulls up the info for the food. There is also a ton of pre-loaded exercises, from running to something like "mowing the lawn". You simply enter how long you performed the exercise and it will add in calories to your daily allottment. After I ran yesterday (45 minutes at an 11.5min/mile pace), I was allowed to eat 1940 calories because I'd burned off 500 by running:dance3:.

I have My Fitness Pal and like it for calories but some of the exercises I put in it didn't have a blanket amount of calories burned. I had to add it in myself and I really had no idea what to add. I think I was trying to add Zumba. I like the feature the other poster mentioned about "Lose It" saying it goes by week so you can make up for having a bad day. I'm going to check that one and see if I like that better.

Another vote for MyFitnessPal. I'm not one to keep track of anything, and I've been using MFP for over a month and I haven't missed a day.

Big fan of Lose It. Even more so since you can now scan lables of things you've eaten. :thumbsup2

My Fitness Pal!

They almost all track calories and scan bar codes, but the community part of MFP is pretty helpful. I'm down 30+ since April!
