Does anyone know any good remedies for back pain?? I did something to my lower back yesterday afternoon. I have no idea what happened - one minute I was sitting at the table in a restaurant, the next thing I know I'm practically writhing on the ground in pain. It's happened to me once before a few years ago, but I was able to get to my chiropractor the next morning. Unfortunately, yesterday was Sunday and today is a holiday and they are closed and so is my regular doctor, so I couldn't even go in and get a muscle relaxer or something like that :sad1:

It hurt to sit, hurts to stand, hurts to walk, hurts to lay down flat.. the only thing that doesn't hurt is to lay on my side. Any tips to keep the pain down or good positions to lay in? I tried tylenol last night and ibprofin this morning and neither seems to help at all. TIA!

UGH... I've felt your pain. It is horrible and scary. For me my chiropractor suggests ice. 20 minutes on 20 minutes off and lots of TLC. Do nothing until you start to feel better.

I like Biofreeze too! (Ice is probably the same and much cheaper)

Good luck, in a few days you will be better!

i'm sorry for your pain. i have major back issues so i know what you are going through. i lie down as much as possible when mine acts up. just a side note that if it doesn't go away in a few days you may want to have it looked at by an ortho. my pcp thought i had a severe muscle sprain. turns out, i have 2 herniated disks, arthritis and degerative disk disease which i never would have known about if i hadn't gone to the ortho.

I work in physical therapy, but of course it's hard to know what is going on exactly just from your post. I would recommend laying on your stomach either flat or with a small pillow under your abdomen and see if that helps. I would use ice if you can tolerate it. Use anti-inflammatories as your Dr would suggest to you. Once you have back pain you are more likely to have it again. Find out why it happens, not just a quick chiro fix (although it can be helpful) so you can prevent another episode.

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
