OT: All y'all are pretty awesome.

We are really blessed with this group - it seems I'm reminded of it nearly every day! I can never take you all for granted because every time I think I've seen the best of you then you go one better. :lovestruc:

I feel privileged to be a part of this group :worship:

ditto! perfectly put!

I was going to post on the "other" thread but then I saw this one. for you Shauna. Are you dealing with Kaiser or one of the other hospital groups? If you need a good knee doctor, PM me.

Not Kaiser. My doctor is in Davis and I go through Woodland Health. I'll have to see what today's doctor appt. brings. My doc told me he wanted me to see an orthopedic specialist but for some reason, my appt. today is with a chronic pain management doctor.

I'm a little confused about it because I would think they would want to find out what is wrong with my knee before they write it off as chronic pain. I thought that was for someone who has unexplained pain or whose pain won't go away. :confused3

What network is your knee doctor on?

I'm not sure ... not Kaiser though. He's based out of Mercy and Methodist Hospitals. His website is a little cheesy but he's a great doctor.

Oh good! Woodland Health is part of CHW which also runs Mercy. I just checked out his site and he is in the same building as my old doctor and my OB/GYN. Very awesome!

He did my best friend's knee surgeries and looked at my knees (no surgery required) when I was a teenager. He and my dad used to golf together a lot and he also knew my grandfather who was a physician.

Thanks so much for the info. I'll see how today goes. I may have to take matters into my own hands if I don't like what happens.

Thanks again! :goodvibes :flower3:

Don't let them blow you off Shauna. I had problems for ages, even had 2 scops before a doctor finally figured out I had blow out my ACL but it had somehow partially re-attached itself. I had to have ACL reconstruction surgery and now I'll probably need a knee replacement at somepoint since my knee is so messed up from the years of instability.

Don't take NO for an answer. Go for a second opinion.

You poor thing! Thanks for warning me. I'm just concerned that this has been going on for so long. It's been almost 2 months and my knee is still just as swollen as it was AND has gotten worse in one place. I feel like I've been delayed in getting some sort of diagnosis and I'm frustrated about that.

One good thing is that I'm far from reticent about demanding the best care available. If I don't like something, I CAN and DO speak up VERY loudly. Stories like yours are what makes me so anxious to figure out what is going on. :scared:

 Shauna, sorry you had such a miserable experience yesterday. I hope it gets better from here on.
