OT Age for Cars themed bedroom?

My 8 yo and 2 yo share a room. We just got the 2yo a Cars toddler bed. I'm looking to redo the room in the Spring- paint, bedding. Is a Cars bedding set too babyish for the 8yo? I was thinking to match the two beds or do a plaid or a sports theme for the twin bed. Then I need to think about what to paint the walls. They are white right now. If the groundhog is right, spring will be here soon so I better get moving!

I got it, Nacar themed sheets and stuff for the 8 year old, Cars for the two year old. Since there both about racing and cars, they fit perfectally together. As for the walls, a nice masculine blue, with a checked racing stripe perhaps? Basically, you want to give the room a semi grown up touch for the 8 year old. Car tire chairs? Mabey old car seats for chairs? Mabey not quite so "cars" themed, but more of a racing theme! Mabey some of those stick on cars on the walls, some racing flag window curtains.

I have an eight yr old boy and neither he nor his friends are into the Cars movie, so I think it is too young for him. If he likes it the Nascar would work and you could switch the little one over to it easily in a couple yrs.

I painted my ds's room in a car theme.

I painted the top part of the wall blue (sky).

The bottom part green (grass). & I put a wiggly, windy road between the 2 colors in gray (road) & then I put yellow dotted lines on the gray part (that was not easy).

So he has a road way but not a Cars theme because that can get old fast.

I still need to paint clouds & some other things but with an almost 6 year old dd, he is 3 1/2 & my dd is 11 months time isn't always easy with a paint can.

I also got denim fabric with silver stars on them for curtains (which are not done yet).

And he has a blue bestpread from Target (muliple designs & blues on it). The room can take him into his early teens (if the paint lasts that long).

My DS is still a baby, but I would say that as long as your oldest son is still into cars the them should be fairly easy to pull off. I have 12yr old nephew who absolutely loves cars (all kinds, including the disney movie).
