Osborne Lights Opening Night crowded?

Needing some assistance. Is opening night crowded for the Osborne Lights?
should we skip this with small children?

If you get to Osborne lights early and get a good set you should not have any trouble with the crowds. I have found that a good curb set is always available at the light show.

Why would you want to sit down on a curb? Don't you walk around looking at the lights? At least that's how I remember it.

Yes you do walk thru this attraction. I have never been on opening night but have been a few times Thanksgiving weekend and it is pretty crowded but
manageable. I wouldn't miss it, but if your children are very young they may
not love it but you will. Last year we were there with a cousin and his 3 year old daughter, she loved it and had never seen snow so that was the highlight of the night for her, so if you live where you don't get snow,that
alone would be worth the crowds. Have a magical time.

Pictures from last year. No additional charge to see the lights at MGM beyond your park admittance.

It starts when it gets dark.

In the past it was down New York Street and started at dusk, it will tell you an exact time on the map for the week you are there. They will sell hot cocoa and cookies and it will snow(or at least it did in the past). They usually have a lighting ceremony every night.

We always take a seat on the curb before it begins to snow. I'm not sure why exactly we do this, but we usually end up meeting some very nice people around us and talk to them a bit as it begins to snow, and then we walk through.

It's been a few years since I've seen it, but I know they had a really good pre-show. I can't remember all the details, but it involved city workers not allowing the power on. some little kid wishing for snow, then the lights come on. Maybe somebody knows what I'm talking about.

We're leaving WDW on the 25th--will the lights have been on before then?

Lights start on Monday, Nov. 14th. We will be there and intend to see it- crowds or not. This is typically a quiet time of the year (between Jersey week and T-Giving) so I anticipate crowds to be Medium for this event....

Fantasmic is at 7pm, so we will walk through after, park closes at 8pm.
