Osborne Lights Hours?

Hi,
Would like to know if it's possible to see Fantasmic, then head over to the Osborne Lights?
I'm thinking MGM would be closing at 7pm at the time of our trip (mid-december), but wondering if MGM remains open for the Osborne Lights.

In 2002, the last year Osborne Lights was shown, Osborne Lights started at 6:00pm and Fantasmic also was at 6:00pm. So there would be time after Fantasmic if park closing is 7:00pm. I'm not sure how late they leave the lights on past closing but I believe they do unless there is an afterhours event.

In 2002, I had read a "tip" (On a well-known, paid for Tour Guide website) that said that the Lights were available to view well after park closing.

In order to take advantage of that tidbit - and avoid some of the crowds walking thru the lights, I made a late PS at 50's prime-time for dinner (6:30pm)--- immed. after dinner, we tried to view the lights, but the entrance was blocked (by CMs) who told us the park was closed and to proceed to the park exit ((There was NO after hours event that night - we asked)). It was 7:30pm, and the park had closed at 7pm (Mind you, the shops at the entrance were still open for our shopping enjoyment)....

We tried to get back to MGM later in the week to see the lights, but the weather was Horrid - torrential downpours every night - so we missed out that year. Last time I try that trick!!!!!

In 2001, we went immed. after Fantasmic - and It was SUPER crowded - plan on doing the "theme-park shuffle" and not being able to get too many pictures without several hundred of your favorite disney friends in them as well.....Seems everyone heads over there immediately AFTER Fantasmic.......... I know some people would be appalled at this choice, but I chose to see Osborne Lights during Fantasmic. That way it wasn't too crowded. Only problem I ran into was one year when I timed my leaving badly and ran (almost literally)into the crowds coming from Fantasmic trying to see the lights. I felt like a salmon swimming upstream!

Doesn't seem like much time to do both, and I'm sure post-Fantasmic crowds will be a treat, too,lol...

I was kind of hoping that they kept MGM open later for the folks wanting to see the Lights, just 'funneling' everyone from the park entrance to the Lights and back.

Perhaps it is like the rides, if you are in line at park closing they will let you in. Going to dinner and showing up a half hour after closing was pushing it I think.
