Osborne Lights and TSM Strategy

Getting ready to make FP selections tonight. I'm second guessing my DHS/Epcot day. I have a lunch reservation at Tutto for 1:00 and a dinner reservation at Hollywod Brown Derby at 7:35. The only thing I want to do at DHS beside eat is see the Osborne Lights and ride TSM. I want to see the CP at Epcot at 5:00 but not planning on sitting and watching it. Hopefully we can just listen to it and maybe see a little from outside the theater which means we can leave earlier if needed. Once at DHS, I want to spend some time at the Osborne Lights since this is the last year. I'm wondering if I'll have time for TSM before dinner or should I schedule it before lunch at Epcot? That just seems like a lot of park hopping. Any advice?

I would think it would work if you can make TSM by 7:00 . Probably a TSM FP+ for something like 6:15-7:15 would be best.

I'm assuming Studios closes at 8:00, so you'll have to do it all before your dinner ADR. Any hope of moving that back closer to closing time? That would help you do what you want to do without hopping twice and not being in such a time crunch.

However, if you can get your FP+ for sometime between 6 and 7:30, I think you'll be okay anyway. The 5:00 CP will be over around 5:45 which should get you to HS by 6:30. If there's not a boat waiting, I'd take the walk between EP/HS to save time. Depending on your FP+ time, you either do Osborne right then or after your ride. You'll just need to be sure you're back to HBD by 7:30.

Would an hour be enough time for OL and TSM? I can't remember how long TSM takes.

Oh, didn't realize HS was closing that early. I just assumed OP would be seeing the lights after dinner.

Much tighter schedule to try to do both Osborne and TMS before dinner....

You can spend as much time viewing the lights as you would want, but think 30 minutes would be adequate.

Even with FP+, the evening wait for TSM could possibly be as long as 15-20 minutes (especially if the ride has been down during the day, and people are returning with "any-time" FP+). The ride itself won't take you more than 10 minutes.

I had been trying to get a later ADR for HBD but was unsuccessful. I just tried again and it worked! Moved it back to 7:50, gaining 15 minutes. If we leave the CP at 5:45, we should be at DHS by 6:15. If we miss the boat, we can just walk. I think we will get to DHS and go immediately to TSM and hopefully be done by 6:45. That will leave an hour for OL. Does this sound reasonable?

Sounds like a plan to me!

Congrats on getting a later time for dinner. Hopefully you will have the same luck getting the fast pass time you want for TSM.

Enjoy your trip!

the lights do not turn off when the park closes. Lights stay on for one hour after park closes. And we spend the entire hour just oohing and ahhing.
