OMG, seriously, this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

I know, I know, I am about a year behind the times, but it just came to HBO and I just watched it!

Couldn't convince DH to watch it with me again, but I loved the twists and turns!

I will say I did not see that twist coming! I was glad it did though, because Esther was very disturbing and that made it a little less gross LOL. It was a good movie, very creepy!!

I am not a horror movie fan (not that I'm "scared" of them, but I think they're mostly just really awful movies), but I really loved Orphan last year.

Foolish me, I ended up watching over 200 movies released in 2009 last year (my journey can be found in my blog which is linked below [shameless self-promotion over]) and Orphan landed in spot #14. Here was my silly write-up in my end-of-the year wrap-up:

Dear Vera Farmiga,

Oh, Vera. You are probably my favorite actress working today. I realize you probably felt like you were "stooping" to a new low in this horror film, but you helped raise Orphan from simply an average flick to one that I've already enjoyed on multiple viewings.

You were certainly aided by Peter Sarsgaard as your husband and young Isabelle Fuhrman as your freakish adopted daughter. Plus, while the script had a tad too many typical "fake" horror scares, it still has some major twists that through me for a loop.

In the end, though, it is your nuanced performance (yes, I realize this was simply a horror movie, but I feel like that's an honest assessment about your role) that stands out and will make me return to this fun flick multiple times.

Okay, I'll be the first nay-sayer. I absolutely hated this movie. I called the plot twist about 25 minutes into the movie (DF was pretty mad later when it turned out I was right ) and overall I just thought the plot was really stupid.

I did really love the little girl who played Max, though. She's adorable.

Such a twisted movie! DH and I both enjoyed it, and I"m not usually one for horror type movies!!

I bought the movie used for 6 bucks. I couldnt wait to add it to my collection!

I love horror movies, but I was completely surprised by the twist in the movie Orphan. I absolutely loved the movie! I have it on my dvr, only watched it once, but plan to watch it again.

I went on IMDB last year before the movie came out and found out about the twist because the script had been leaked online. A few things from the script had been changed in the final cut of the movie.

I saw the movie in theaters knowing the twist but I did enjoy and it had a good creepy feel to it. Some people have theorized that the movie could have been partially by the Brianna Stewart case.

I liked most of the movie but I didn't care for the twist. Instead of making it scarier it made it less scary. I would have preferred she just be a psycho kid.
