I understand there are pros and cons to both...just wondering what people's experiences have been

Also, a specific worry I have is having to have the Orlando rental with me at all times--on the bus, etc.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

actually, having the stroller to get to the bus, room, etc. is a big selling point of Orlandostrollerrentals. Not having to carry a sleeping kiddo while waiting for a bus is a very good thing. Having rented from OSR last trip, I would never get a disney rental again.

We rented offsite last trip, and are doing so again this time, with OSR. First and foremost we are saving $100 by renting offsite. The cost of a double stroller rental from Disney is $27/day when you rent upfront for the week. That would cost us $189. Our double stroller from OSR is $85 total for the same amount of time. Since we stay at the Poly and have our own car with us, we never use the buses so taking the stroller back to the room doesn't really become an issue at all...we just roll it right onto the monorail or throw it in the back of our car. It's extra helpful when you have a sleeping child as you leave the parks for the night...no need to turn in a rental stroller and schlep a 40lb, sleeping child all the way back to the hotel.

I LOVED THE ORLANDO STROLLER RENTAL STROLLER!!!!! I thought my kids had much more, comfortable space than some of the Disney rentals. I loved having it to use to get to the bus/boat. Having it with us was much easier. Folding it was a cinch. HIGHLY recommended.

I haven't used the strollers from Disney yet, but just looking at the pics it seems like they aren't that comfortable. Looks like kids can't really recline in them sleep, is that true?

We went ahead and decided to rent from Orlando stroller rentals just because of the costs and the fact that they look so uncomfortable.

I am an OSR fan. We used Disney strollers in the past, not knowing enough to rent from and offsite vendor. DD doesn't need one anymore. Last time we went and the next time we go (12/6) we will rent one for DS6 (autism issues, stroller was a HUGE help for us). They have one that's big enough for him. We also have our car with us so buses aren't an issue. So it's a big comfortable stroller and cheaper than renting at the parks.

I was just about to post something similer to this post.

I am considering getting a double stroller from Orlando Stroller instead of renting one form my 4 year old and have a separate one for the 1 year old.

My questions: do you miss not having a cup holder? I also like having a tray on the front of my daugher's stroller and this doesn't have one. How is the storage under the stroller??

Thanks!

We're renting from OSR next week. This will be our third time renting from them. I can't say enough good about their strollers. As for the cup holder, I bought a canvas double stroller organizer from BRU and put it on my rental from OSR. My organizer has two cup holders. The storage under the OSR strollers is good. We rent a double, so we have twice the space. It's plenty of room for us. (It's easier to access the underneath storage from the side rather than the back.) There's also a large mesh pouch on each of the seat backs. HTH!

It should; it has a 100 lb. weight limit total, so as long as their cumulative weight is lower than that, you're fine. My kids weighed 96 lbs. together last trip, and they were absolutely fine. It really doesn't matter in the citimini double if the kids are different in weight, or even if there was only one kiddo in the stroller, it handled like a dream no matter what.
HTH.

The biggest pro for the disney stroller is that is pushes like a dream. We have used a joovy caboose and a maclaren double. Both were much, much harder to push than the disney stroller. I could push and steer it with one hand. That being said, the cost is just too much. We had it for one day on this last trip. It is just too big of an expense for the whole week.

My girls a both little peanuts so I know we won't total more than 80 pounds but how about the width of each side on the double...will it be a snug fit?
I know neith of my girls ike to feel constricted!

after reading this post it makes me realize I should have just rented from OSR - it would cost the same as the $75 I spent on a double stroller (only a Jeep cheap one, but still) that we'll likely never use again. Maybe I should return it and rent instead? We won't really need it for the flights, etc. Hmm...decisions, decisions.

So I checked out the OSR site and looked at the "see this stroller in action" link. The stroller folds in half lengthwise - seems like it would be tough for putting on and off the monorail, etc.? The one we have folds the other way so we can still wheel it around even when it's folded. Ugh, I don't know what to do!

We rented from Orlando Stroller Rentals for our 8 month old's first trip, which begins on Thursday (yay!) I'll be posting a trip report and will be happy to report back on them! I've heard nothing but good things about OSR, though!!

I don't think it folding up in half will be a problem on the monorail. I plan on bringing it on the buses with me.

Not sure about this but from what I've read, you don't have to take the kids out of the stroller on the monorail?? I only saw specifics about water transportation where the stroller needs to be parked and the child carried for obvious safety reasons.

I mentioned all of this to my TA and she agreed that OSR is the way to go over the Disney rentals. However, she gave me a third option...said that the WDW gift shops are now (and have been for a year or more) selling Maclaren umbrella strollers in their gift shops for $25

So now my questions are:
how do the maclarens maneuver in the parks, DTD, etc?
and where would I buy a clip to lock the two together? are they expensive?

She said that this seems to be pretty popular...expect a sea of red strollers.

Any thoughts on this option??
Who knew this would be so complicated?? LOL

Thanks!

The strollers being sold in the gift shops are not Maclaren strollers. They are cheap umbrella strollers like you would get at Walmart.

Yep...just called Disney merchandise. They are Kolcraft, not Maclaren and they're 49.99, not $25...they are red, though!
and they only hold up to 35 lbs...not an option for me after all
