Ok, so after clutching onto my post, I felt I accomplished something. What, exactly, I have no idear. We hung out at the quiet pool for a while,, and again,, had an early reservation for Captain's Grill over at Beach Club for dinner.
\But right now, I wanted to celebrate that I now know exectly where I fell,, stood there,, and,,, yeah,,,
so what? Hey, my brain was in the right place,, at least before the fall. And no, we are not talking the Turkomen Empire here ,, and believe me, nothing to worry about here,,, I have already listed all the top informational aspects that I know of the Turkoman Empire,,, yep,, that's it IT.
\ Is there really a Turkoman Empire from the past? Did I dream that? \ Oh,,, I'm sorry,, really I am, in my advanced
state of intelligence that I am now gifted with,,, I would never,,, ,,, never,,,, never,,, and I really mean it this time!
Never,, Ok,, ha ha,, you got me,, what were we talking about?
Oh, that's right,,, dont' tell her unless you have her answer.
Yes,, I love her, but she's starting to scare even me!
Nice kitty,,,,Good kitty
Again, while waiting for her to get ready,, I'm walking around taking pictures again.
Doesn'tt this quiet pool look inviting?
I wanted the 5 o'clock time slot for dinner, they told us no can do, the best they can come up with is 5:05.
I told them "well, forget it then".
Smidgy overrode me at that point, so 5:05 it is.
We still got to the area early,, but to the Studios, boat to theBoardwalk, then boat across the pond to Beach Club,,, she still want's to see all the decos again at the resorts.
And, the Boardwalk itself:
The Captain's Grill is a place we have both wanted to try for a few years now,, it just keeps getting bumped on the list, but not this time.
Too bad it wasn't.
Our likes are very similar, we both got Strip steaks at the GF cafe,,, and we both wanted the rib eyes tonight. Yes,, we definately go over all the menus at home before we leave, whether Alll Ears or WDW INFO.
After sitting down and ordering a couple cokes,,, we opened up the book to find,,,,
The ribeye has been discontinued,,, but they DO have a strip steak, or,,, a Special that included an appetizer. This was pork tenderloin,,, and neither of us can remember what the appetizer was,, I'm thinking a form of soup.
Here's where Smidgy ran off the tracks;
We didn't want to get the same steak we just had the night before,, so we both opted for the special, I ordered mine medium,,, she wanted it medium rare.
Then they brought them out, together.
mine was ok,,, cooked wise.
And hers was rare allright;
It was still going "ebbebebbebbe That's all, Folks"!
It had to go back in,, and of course now we can't find oour waiter. This is a trick that Penn and Teller can't even duplicate as well as we can, "How to make a waiter disappear!"
He finally shows up and she tells him to just cook it a tad more, her second mistake. He wanted to just take the whole thing back and bring out another one, but she just wanted hime to cook it more,,, which made sense at the time.
So now I'm sitting with the age old probem of how to handle this situation; mine is still sitting in front of me, do I start eating it? Do I wait until hers comes back, while mine is getting colder?
I try holding off, and we wait.
And wait.
I believe our waiter went on break.
Christmas break.
Finally somebody else brings out the plate to Smidgy again, puts it down without saying a word and is off again.
Oh,, we don't have to worry anymore about it being too rare;
Even the Big Bad Wolf wouldn't waste his breath huffing and puffing for this football now.
We got sucked in by the appetizer, that doesn't come with the dining plan. What would have been so wrong with getting a strip steak two nights in a row?
But even mine, which was done just fine, was nothing special at all. Yes, it is true that I prefer the breaded pork tenderloin better, that's what I grew up with, but what it lost in actual size and volume, ( it was a pretty small piece of meat) it made up for in chewiness. (my jaws were exhausted after a couple of forkfulls). You keep thinking you're ready to swallow, and your throat is saying, "I wouldn't!"
All in all, a real let down from what we were expecting at the Captain's Grill, this is one Captain that should have gone down with the Ship.
