Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

I feel so loved!!! <3

Ditto on what Lady H said. :goodvibes

I meant it you two! I love reading your responses! They are always funny and entertaining. ::yes::

The T-Man original songs are terrific too. I really like the new one T-Man! :worship:

I was actually a little sad to see the Uni portion end. :sad1: I like those parks just as much as WDW. I can't wait for them to finish the expansions.

I'll let you know my thoughts as soon as we get back from the split trip late this year. The last time I was at Uni, it was just Uni, no IOA. :rolleyes2

Sacriledge! Don't you know Disney just opened new restrooms? Very themed even AND it has electronic recharging stations!!!

Beat that, Uni!

http://www.worldofwalt.com/tangled-rest-area-photos-videos.html

The buildings that hold the restrooms and the surrounding area are highly themed with great detail. There are hanging banners and lanterns, posters featuring characters from the movie, and even a waterfall and creek that add a sense of peace and calm with the flowing water

I copied this from the above link.. as a person who has to pee whenever i hear a fountain or anything like that, I'll NEVER get out of that area!!!!:rotfl:

mike, that song was terrific. although I read it last night and couldnt get that song out of my head all day!

Seriously, I am never going to be able to lure DD1 away from these bathrooms when we go. She loves "Tangled". I imagine she will have to pee at least 5 times when we are in the general area of those restrooms! ;)

Yup. If you know what it means, you get a Wunderbar.
But if you feel about Wunderbars the way a certain Winnipeger feels about a particular chocolatey piece of heaven which shall remain nameless due to uncontrollable bouts of longing and lust... PM me your address and I'll send you one. Or if you're really nice... two.

mmmmmmmm....... zzzzeee.... No! no... must... not.... succumb......

See, I heard this shout out bat signal from somewhere northwest threatening to withdraw the offer of a Wunderbar or two. I was literally compelled to post. Pkondz I haven't got a clue about the origins of kaneeck aneeck, but I do have a serious thing for Wunderbars. Consider yourself PMed in just a few minutes.

And when have I not been nice, I mean the Katy Perry stuff has all been thought and typed with love. ;)

We have the vewwy first building in Martinique, kaneeck aneeck
I will personally send one Wunderbar chocolate bar to anyone other then Nebo, Smidgy or myself who knows what that means.

Without Googling it.
Let us pray. Or shall we be singing along with the nuns?

And no I didn't Google it if I'm on the right track.
No Mikey boy,,, you are right on the money. And singing with the nuns is better than swimming with the fishes. Oh, Ponzi does that as well.
Okay. Hopefully next week I'll be able to send Mike and Heather their Wunderbars (Hopefully it won't be too warm that instead of chocolate bars you get chocolate pudding) and I'll send a couple to Carpentersville too.

Ok. If anyone hasn't figured out what Nebo, Smidgy and Pkondz are referring to. I provided the answer.

Kaneeck aneeck

Double D,, when it comes to Disney,, my views seem to change with the wind. There was a time I NEVER wanted to stay at GF,,,, way too white and stuffy,,,, now,,, I can't watit to try and stay at a villa when they are finished there.
Yes, I can do hoity toity,, pinky out when holding the Budweiser can,,,, just give me a chance.

Yep, I can see it now, you with in your brown Fragile shirt and Budweiser can, pinky out, chilling on the lawn of the GF. It works for me! I just might join you, maybe not with the Fragile shirt and sub a Sunny D mixture for the Bud and we are in business!

It just feels like all of the resorts have distinct "personalities", for lack of a better word. The GF feels a little proper to me, but I can totally see the dollhouse aspect of it once DD1 called it that. Maybe one day when we happen across a really good discount code.

And you know, the giddiness bit is legit. That's what I get for most of my posts being sarcastically themed. It's a little gack inducing, but man, it's real. I don't get teary, but my heart starts beating faster when I see the Welcome signs and I feel just like a kid. It's beyond excitement, it really is giddiness! ;)

Ok, time to be stupid again,, but I have no idea what a Wunderbar is. I''m still in mourning since they appear to have dropped the Itsakadoozie! not that I liked them,, but it was just so much fun to say.

Wunderbars area candy bars made by Cadbury and they can be found in the Canadian pavilion. They have peanut butter and caramel and are very, very yummy!

Ok, how in the world did you come up with those anti-smileys? Now I have to go see them just to post some pics of them.

Consider yourself lucky that you caught that...

very lucky.

Hmmmmm.... on second thought..... I can see the photoshopped pic now....
hmmm.... might not get it past the censors though....

Yeah, but wasn't that a grea typo? And the letters are right next to each other on the keyboard, making it legit.

doodley squat is when you crouch down while holding an etch-a-sketch

Ok,, it wasnt until I saw Diane's post on this that I re-considered,,,,,, yes,,,, this is a great line,,, but when you stand up again,,, it all goes away.
Feel free to stand up again.

How's the eyeball? (no pics please... tell ya what; you don't post yours and I won't post mine... deal?)

Sorry, no help for the eyes right now. I'm not bleeding into the retina anymore,,,,but the myopia is still breaking down the retinas anyway. I've gone from wet macular degeneration to Dry macular degeneration. Wet is the worst, it can take all you sight quickly,, but it's the only form that's treatable,,,,, with injections, and no,,, I won't post that picture again.

I was basically told there now is nothing they can do,,
But,,,"Please, if you are driving,,, wait till I get home first."

I love my doctor.
Everybody's a comedian.

Whenever I use my tape measure (or, I guess, the occasional ruler) I always will think in terms of "three ticks past 11 1/2". " Yes I occasionally stop and think, "Oh, come on. It's 11 and 11/16". " But....

And I almost never measure in metric.

11/16th is .687,,,,,,,and no,,, not looking it up

Oh c'mon!! Are you kidding? I was so proud of that one. I couldn't wait to comment on the chapter just for that one line alone!

Crushed.

I'm absolutely crushed.

Ok, ok,,, it was good, and yes,, I know the feeling.
I had it when I started my callouts,,,,you think the Fat behind was an accident? huh,,,, HUH? Well,, ok,,, it was an accident,,, but not a typo,,,,just something that popped out at me when I was typing. and with blurred vision.

Yeah, and did you notice how few people commented on that? I'm playing to a reeeeeaaaalllly small audience here. :rotfl:

Trust me,,, I know the feeling sometimes.

Did they do anything else? Anything?

No, don't tell me. I'm happier not knowing.

Uh,,, YMCA,,,, Macho Man,,,, and I think something called In the Navy,,,,though I cant think of it,,, that's all I know.

 Thanks for the visual.

Ok, see now? I thought that was funny as heck, the bratwurst line.

:lmao: Awesome.

Yep, I can see it now, you with in your brown Fragile shirt and Budweiser can, pinky out, chilling on the lawn of the GF. It works for me! I just might join you, maybe not with the Fragile shirt and sub a Sunny D mixture for the Bud and we are in business!

Yeah, see how easy it can be,,,by the way,,, need to talk to you soon.

It just feels like all of the resorts have distinct "personalities", for lack of a better word. The GF feels a little proper to me, but I can totally see the dollhouse aspect of it once DD1 called it that. Maybe one day when we happen across a really good discount code.

One problem here,k, it's reallly only the Dollhouse during the Christmas season,,,,,or am I wrong about that?

And you know, the giddiness bit is legit. That's what I get for most of my posts being sarcastically themed. It's a little gack inducing, but man, it's real. I don't get teary, but my heart starts beating faster when I see the Welcome signs and I feel just like a kid. It's beyond excitement, it really is giddiness! ;)

I can't argue,,,,,I know the feeling well.

Wunderbars area candy bars made by Cadbury and they can be found in the Canadian pavilion. They have peanut butter and caramel and are very, very yummy!

I will have to try one soon.

Geez,,, and a good line on top of it.

I hate the metric system
Yeah, try this one. My 4th graders homework the other night. WORD PROBLEMS WITH FRACTIONS! Some sadistic person throught that up :faint:

We like this place a lot

Us too, never had a bad meal there but we've mostly been for lunch. How badly can you screw up a sandwixh and fries

I MUCH prefer Spectromagic over MSEP
I think I am in the minority on this but I LOVE MSEP and am meh about Spectro.

One quarter of the 8 billion people on this earth agrree with you, while one third of the remaining six billion see things otherwise, yet , 9/10ths of the remaining 4 billion couldn't care less. Nice to see you again, Janet.

I totally agree with you.
You are in the minority.

but I do have a serious thing for Wunderbars. Consider yourself PMed in just a few minutes.

If you did... I didn't get it. If you do and I don't respond within a day or so... I didn't get it.

Kaneeck aneeck

Nope. That's not it.

Oh, okay. Kidding.
Couldn't resist.

Aw, man. That sucks.

The doctor's joke that is.

Seriously, sorry to hear about that.

You're kinda scary some times, ya know that?

Uh,,, YMCA,,,, Macho Man,,,, and I think something called In the Navy,,,,though I cant think of it,,, that's all I know.

You know, I had forgotten those.... and I was a happier person.

I totally agree with you.
You are in the minority.

:surfweb:trying to get caught up here. Oh how I have missed te Dis. Been laughing like crazy tonight, Thanks nebo!
Up to page 82 but wanted to jump in and say "Howdy" ove the Uni report so far and the pics are great. Hopefully the next time I post I will be hijacking to posta pic of our first grandchild. She is being a bit stubborn and is almost a week late. Of course we have had 90 degree weather the last few days so DD is a bit (alot) uncomfortable.
Congrats on the job Mony that is great. Takes a special person to go into Special Ed. :worship:

I just want to say again, thanks everyone for posting, it sure makes good reading when even the callouts are fun to do. Now, gonna see what I have and hopefully get a chapter up tonight yet.

After our strange "Main Street " only night, we were tired and just wanted to get to bed early, tomorrow was going to be a bit strange as well, what I didn't know was that the Evil Drawer was going to make my night strange, as well.

_____________________________________________

It's like this;
When we checked into our room, one of the dresser drawers was opened, guess the maid had just forgotten to close it, so I did. We then divvied up the drawers and I went for my walk around the building to get out of her way.

I ended up with the evil drawer.

When I got back I unpacked and we went to the pool for a while, then, when we came back, that drawer was open all the way again.

"Huh, guess I just forgot to close it."

When we got back after dinner and the parade, darned if that drawer isn't open again.
Now I'm finally suspicious, and I ;close it and stare at it.

Nope, nothing.

And we forget about it.

You know what's coming, right?

The dresser is opposite of the beds, and center located right between the beds in the walkway to the , well,, table, bathroom, doorway,,, wherever.

I have the bed near the door, farthest from the bathroom.

Guess who has to go potty at two in the morning?

And no, I'm not thinking about evil magic drawers in the dark in the middle of the night to go take a leak.

If I had gotten out of bed on the near side, I might have missed it, but NO, I had to take the overland route and get out by the door side.

After making a left at the foot of the bed I thought I was home clear.

Fool!

It was waiting for me.

I caught it with my right shin, and while I didn't go down, wow,,, did it ever hurt.
The whole dresser shook,,, stuff started falling off, and I
remembered a phrase for something like this that alwyas
sounded funny to me, "He barked his shin."

Didn't seem so funny now though.

I do think I see where it came from though,,, cuz,,when it happens, the sound that comes out of you is close to a Bark.

I didn't have any time to mess with the dang thing though ini the morning,,,there was no time at all.

You see,,, there is a Not so Scary Christmas Party tonight, so the park closes really early. Because of that, they moved the opening time up an hour to 8 O'clock.

But wait, we aren't done yet!

This is also an Early Entry day,,, meaning that for resort guests the Magic Kingdom opens at 7.

7!

So at 6:15 we are down at the bus stop.

The two of us.

Att the Martinique aneek aneek bus stop.

It's pitch black out still at this time in Orlando in December.

And there was not a single other person there.

I look toward the east and can barely see a signifying glow heralding the coming dawn.

It was pretty spooky looking out for Disney.

And watching the Walking Dead hasn't exactly helped the mood either.

Then we saw the maintenance worker coming towards us.

Big guy, all we could make out was his silhouette.

In no particular hurry.

And of course, he walked with a limp.

I kept hearing in my head,,, "they're coming for you Barbara", does anybody remember that classic line?

But he turned off next to the bus depot and headed towards the building. Finally, a bus pulled up and there were real live people on it, maybe six of us in all.

I was looking forward to being there in the morning when it's still dark, but dawn happens quickly down there, and by the time we got through the gates, the dark had left us in the hands of widely scattered light.

But it still felt so good to be "home", and that's how you can get to feel about it there. I'm not going to give you a blow by blow report here on what we did,,, but the good feeling almost sucked me into trying the Astro Orbitters again,, a ride I have done ONCE in my life with my son, butr then I came to my senses and walked quickly past.
You see, when you get that high up and you know you are going to die, there is a sensation that goes way past vertigo: you can have a tendancy to just want to leap out of the little car you are riding in and get it over with.

And I've already done the Splat on the concrete thing at the Magic Kingdome.

Unfortunately, escaping Tomorrowland was not as easy as I thought it would be.
Since we were right there with no line Smidgy Oakley wanted to do BBuzz Light Year.

Right.

About 90 seconds into the ride,, I have a score of about 8700, and she puts her gun down. "Well, that's that" she announces.

I looked over thinking her gun must be broke, and see her score:

100_2280.jpg

It's maxxed out!

Well, that was fun.

And so,, on to the new and improved Fantasyland we go.

I'm hoping fgr some input here from Smidgy, but to me itjk's still under construction and I hate the sight of the walls up with signs on them.

The new Little Mermaid ride is ok,,, nothing special to me,,, more like a fancier Snow White dark ride,,, but the queuing area is much cooler,,, in a simulated grotto I guess.

But the new area seems well designed,,, very elaborate,, Gaston's Tavern is really cool,, we didn't get to see the Be our Guest restaurant though,,, at least I don't think we did.

Ok,,, bunches of pictures coming atcha;

100_2281.jpg

100_2282.jpg

100_2283.jpg

What Smidgy is like when she slaughters me at Buzz,,,

100_2284.jpg

100_2285.jpg

This chair is a big deal,, and I can't tell you why.

100_2286.jpg

100_2287.jpg

And, of course, you know that no trip is complete without the rocking chair picture.

100_2289.jpg

That big round thing on my front is a "Happy Birthday Steve" button,,, Diane had mentioned that when the reservation was made and I got it at checkin.
My problem now is that I kept forgetting to take it off, and all KINDS of people kept telling me "Happy Birthday".
And yes,, it was funny at first,,, and then got annoying.

But when you get to be my age,,, everything is annoying, just ask Diane.
No,,, better idea is don't ask her.

There also seems to be a new viewing area at Big Thunder that I don't remember being there in the past, good place for some nice shots I think:

100_2288.jpg

100_2291.jpg

That last picture took my a bit to figure out where it was from,,,, then it was "Ohh yeah,,, we rode the Liberty Belle around the island again.

The rest of our day there was pretty uneventful, Ii remember we shared some weird smoothy type drink that was new at Sleepy Hollow,, and of course a funnel cake, but it was warming up nicely so it seemed like a good pool day.

But before we left,, I had to go and check out one more thing.

100_2292.jpg

Know where we are, and what this is?

And with that, a good night to one and all.

You're not old enough to know the Isley Brothers.
But kyou will like Pat O'brians,,,,and 50 was the big number that made me feel old,,,I can't wait to find out what happens at 60.
My guess is my nose falls off.

I turned 25. I figured if I admitted that, I may be laughed outta here:rotfl:I know tons of music before my time. It's my parents/ grandparents fault. The same goes for movies. Thanks to my grandmothers love of Sean Connery I have seen all of his movies to include Hunt for Red October. So yes, I know I would enjoy Pat O'brians and even some of the acts at this years F&G festival.

It is a proud day when you max out on Buzz Lightyear. I did it over my birthday trip. Happy Birthday to me.

:wave2: I hope I haven't missed much.... evil laptop is possessed :rolleyes2 I will never walk past that post again without thinking of you, let it forever be know as the Nebo post :)

and I'm thinking, "this is vacation? aren't I supposed to be relaxing, not getting up in the middle of the night?;)

I was looking forward to being there in the morning when it's still dark, but dawn happens quickly down there, and by the time we got through the gates, the dark had left us in the hands of widely scattered light.
you're not going to go off into a dusk/dawn soliloquy again, are you?

It's maxxed out!

Well, that was fun.

actually, once the initial thrill was over (in about 3 seconds) it was kind of anti-climactic. I mean, what's the point now?:confused3.

I'm hoping fgr some input here from Smidgy, but to me itjk's still under construction and I hate the sight of the walls up with signs on them.
not much input,. it wasn't finished yte, but the little mermaid ride was cute. the queue area was cute. I wanted to eat at BOG (counter service) but it wasn't open that early. and for some reason, we never did. hhmm, remind anyone of Tony's? (that it keeps getting cancelled) now they have a new walkway from near small world to the exit of Haunted Mansion, with avery specail rest area (which strikes me funny, I expect to see vending machines, maps and washrooms where you don't want to touch anything

I think Nebo purposely left it on the whole trip, just so he could growl at people when they innocently wished him a happy birthday. I mean, it is bothers you, next time womeone sayd it, take it off immediately:confused3 admit is, you love playing the grumpy old cuss!:lmao:

But when you get to be my age,,, everything is annoying, just ask Diane.

Know where we are, and what this is?

.

and that, dear Nebo, is the way to HOLD ON to a pole!!! tee hee. (kiss hug)

Sounds like you had a haunted drawer my friend. Not fun. It really wouldn't be a Nebo TR without some injuries though. You can always be counted on to deliver.

I'd want to see the sunrise in the MK too. Sounds cool.

Great score on Buzz Smidgy! You rock!

The Pole! Are they going to put an engraved plaque with your photo on it? "This is the spot where the famous Nebo once "stood"
