After our strange "Main Street " only night, we were tired and just wanted to get to bed early, tomorrow was going to be a bit strange as well, what I didn't know was that the Evil Drawer was going to make my night strange, as well.

It's like this;
When we checked into our room, one of the dresser drawers was opened, guess the maid had just forgotten to close it, so I did. We then divvied up the drawers and I went for my walk around the building to get out of her way.
I ended up with the evil drawer.
When I got back I unpacked and we went to the pool for a while, then, when we came back, that drawer was open all the way again.
"Huh, guess I just forgot to close it."
When we got back after dinner and the parade, darned if that drawer isn't open again.
Now I'm finally suspicious, and I ;close it and stare at it.
Nope, nothing.
And we forget about it.
You know what's coming, right?
The dresser is opposite of the beds, and center located right between the beds in the walkway to the , well,, table, bathroom, doorway,,, wherever.
I have the bed near the door, farthest from the bathroom.
Guess who has to go potty at two in the morning?
And no, I'm not thinking about evil magic drawers in the dark in the middle of the night to go take a leak.
If I had gotten out of bed on the near side, I might have missed it, but NO, I had to take the overland route and get out by the door side.
After making a left at the foot of the bed I thought I was home clear.
Fool!
It was waiting for me.
I caught it with my right shin, and while I didn't go down, wow,,, did it ever hurt.
The whole dresser shook,,, stuff started falling off, and I
remembered a phrase for something like this that alwyas
sounded funny to me, "He barked his shin."
Didn't seem so funny now though.
I do think I see where it came from though,,, cuz,,when it happens, the sound that comes out of you is close to a Bark.
I didn't have any time to mess with the dang thing though ini the morning,,,there was no time at all.
You see,,, there is a Not so Scary Christmas Party tonight, so the park closes really early. Because of that, they moved the opening time up an hour to 8 O'clock.
But wait, we aren't done yet!
This is also an Early Entry day,,, meaning that for resort guests the Magic Kingdom opens at 7.
7!
So at 6:15 we are down at the bus stop.
The two of us.
Att the Martinique aneek aneek bus stop.
It's pitch black out still at this time in Orlando in December.
And there was not a single other person there.
I look toward the east and can barely see a signifying glow heralding the coming dawn.
It was pretty spooky looking out for Disney.
And watching the Walking Dead hasn't exactly helped the mood either.
Then we saw the maintenance worker coming towards us.
Big guy, all we could make out was his silhouette.
In no particular hurry.
And of course, he walked with a limp.
I kept hearing in my head,,, "they're coming for you Barbara", does anybody remember that classic line?
But he turned off next to the bus depot and headed towards the building. Finally, a bus pulled up and there were real live people on it, maybe six of us in all.
I was looking forward to being there in the morning when it's still dark, but dawn happens quickly down there, and by the time we got through the gates, the dark had left us in the hands of widely scattered light.
But it still felt so good to be "home", and that's how you can get to feel about it there. I'm not going to give you a blow by blow report here on what we did,,, but the good feeling almost sucked me into trying the Astro Orbitters again,, a ride I have done ONCE in my life with my son, butr then I came to my senses and walked quickly past.
You see, when you get that high up and you know you are going to die, there is a sensation that goes way past vertigo: you can have a tendancy to just want to leap out of the little car you are riding in and get it over with.
And I've already done the Splat on the concrete thing at the Magic Kingdome.
Unfortunately, escaping Tomorrowland was not as easy as I thought it would be.
Since we were right there with no line Smidgy Oakley wanted to do BBuzz Light Year.
Right.
About 90 seconds into the ride,, I have a score of about 8700, and she puts her gun down. "Well, that's that" she announces.
I looked over thinking her gun must be broke, and see her score:
It's maxxed out!
Well, that was fun.
And so,, on to the new and improved Fantasyland we go.
I'm hoping fgr some input here from Smidgy, but to me itjk's still under construction and I hate the sight of the walls up with signs on them.
The new Little Mermaid ride is ok,,, nothing special to me,,, more like a fancier Snow White dark ride,,, but the queuing area is much cooler,,, in a simulated grotto I guess.
But the new area seems well designed,,, very elaborate,, Gaston's Tavern is really cool,, we didn't get to see the Be our Guest restaurant though,,, at least I don't think we did.
Ok,,, bunches of pictures coming atcha;
What Smidgy is like when she slaughters me at Buzz,,,
This chair is a big deal,, and I can't tell you why.
And, of course, you know that no trip is complete without the rocking chair picture.
That big round thing on my front is a "Happy Birthday Steve" button,,, Diane had mentioned that when the reservation was made and I got it at checkin.
My problem now is that I kept forgetting to take it off, and all KINDS of people kept telling me "Happy Birthday".
And yes,, it was funny at first,,, and then got annoying.
But when you get to be my age,,, everything is annoying, just ask Diane.
No,,, better idea is don't ask her.
There also seems to be a new viewing area at Big Thunder that I don't remember being there in the past, good place for some nice shots I think:
That last picture took my a bit to figure out where it was from,,,, then it was "Ohh yeah,,, we rode the Liberty Belle around the island again.
The rest of our day there was pretty uneventful, Ii remember we shared some weird smoothy type drink that was new at Sleepy Hollow,, and of course a funnel cake, but it was warming up nicely so it seemed like a good pool day.
But before we left,, I had to go and check out one more thing.
Know where we are, and what this is?
And with that, a good night to one and all.
