Got a job call and can't be there for the interview tomorrow so I am drinking my sorrows away!

I mentioned I can interview Thursday and he said maybe another time, SMH.

You know, when I got up this morning and after I got done brushing my tooth, I realized this report is in trouble;
I don't want it to slip into the next trip, so I need to get this one in the fast lane. Now, at times I don't have a problem with this,,,,but other times,,,,,yes, I can get quite wordy. Yes, the word verbose should only be used once a trip report.

Ok, so what am I babbling about? I'll show you:

Yeah, so, what we have here is a situation gettying ugly.

I'm still trying to be impartial,,, but the score says otherwise. Believe me,,, when I started doing this,,, I had no idea that the score would be so lopsided. Yeah I had a hunch that it would be in Uni's favor,,, but ,,,well,,,

From Sue's Land we walked on back to the resort.
We finished the Good Doctor,,,saw what we wanted at Hogwarts (without knowing all that we were missing) and told Potter that in the whole great scheme of things, he's nothing but a scurvy little spider.

I'm sad.

So far,, I have seen ONE stinkin lizard this whole trip!
And that was over at Doubletree ,, not sure it counts.

ANd IT was being eaten by a crane at the time!

Lizard all gone.

Sorry,, us from the great NOTH,,, love southern type things,,,grits, Disney, hush puppies,,,,um, did I mention grits? Ok, grits are just a way to get butter and salt and pepper into your mouth,,,,,but not just food, it's also more to it,,, and seeing , lizards being one of them,, and if I'm coming all the way down from Chi-Town,,,, I WANT LIZARDS! I want gators,,, I want snakes,,,, ok,,, maybe hold off on the snakes,,, at least the venomous ones. I don't seem to do so well lately with antibiotics,,,,
got a feeling that I can put Anti-venin in the same group!

And you can't just go and buy it anywhere, Publix doesn't carry them,,, only certain bars have them from what I've heard:

"So Nebo, what will it be?"

" I'd like a shot of Copperhead if you don't mind."
"With an Amoxicylan chaser."

"And please don't say Coppertone, I have my reasons for that."

"Ok, fine sir,,, but you really look like your are suffering from more of a neurotoxin venom rather than hemo toxin..

Anyway,,, be very carefull in Florida,,, there are 4 major venomous snakes indigenous to the area,, the Copperhead,, which is a rattler type,,, the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake which is REALLY bad news to be bitten by,, the Cottonmouth Water Moccasin,,,,don't ever come near a snake near a pond,,,, and of course, the Coral Snake,,, which is little,, seems harmless,,, very pretty,,, and carries the same venom as a COBRA!

Sorry, felt the need to do this,, read a few stories of bad things happening from snakes down there.

Ok, that fulfills our legal obligations, resume.

We were changed and down by the pool and it wasn't even 11:30 yet. Getting in to see Harry early really helped out the pool time.

A cool thing by the Royal Pacific pool is that there are stations set up around that contain large urns of ice water with lemons and oranges in them, free for the taking.
And next to them are free newspapers. We loaded up and then found I nice spot in the sun by the pool's edge.

But first, we are going to take a slight commercial break,,, I think I moved that last chapter too quickly for the pics to keep up, so let's go back to Seuss land for a minute: I took the pictures, I uploaded them, and by golly you are going to see them!

Ok, that's right, on the way out of the park I saw my second lizard; I think he's sitting on the rock,,, can't tell in the thumbnail photo,,, if not,,, well, he was just before I took the shot,,, and you can't expect him to hang around all day. And besides,,, isn't it a lovely looking rock?

Ok,,, I'm on a roll,,,let's finish this part up,,,,

This is the bridge to the lobby at RP,,,,yes, it's very scenic,,, but light doesn't get there for pictures,,, which in this case is probably just as well.

Which now brings us full circle back to the pool;

Relaxing in our loungers was nice,,,, bright clear sky, lower seventies,,,, not many kids in the pool,,,
yet.

Then the Darlings moved in by us.

Two families,,,, about 4or5kids total,,,and two women that didn't know how to laugh.

The bar was just opening,,,, that's where the husbands went to sit, but one woman sat next to Diane and took some chairs there,,,, and the other sat at a table behind me.
Since they are not together,,,, now they have to talk EXTRA loud so they can hear each other. Ten minutes later and I was willing to give them a twenty to go and join their husbands.

Ok, what can you do; you can pick your chair and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your lounger neighbors. I went back to my paper and tried to ignore them, a couple of the kids went in the water.

With a toy.
A toy that I at first didn't notice.

I'm looking down, reading my paper, when a few drops of water would land on my chest, then this would be followed by the high pitched cackle from Lady One behind me at the table.

No, not a laugh, not a chuckle or a chortle or even a guffaw,,,, this was a full, Wicked Witch of the West, cackle!

Then I got spritzed again, but no cackle this time,,, and I'm looking for low flying sea gulls,,, but no,,, it's just water hitting me.

A third time water sprayed me,,, this was followed by a rucus behind me with the everpresent cackle. Now, I'm looking back coyly,,, and she picks up the Nerf football that she can't catch which promotes the cackling, and tosses it back to her son in the pool.

Ahh,,,got it now.

No, this will not do.

This time when pool kid wound up to throw the "sponge" to mommy,,,who is already cackling in anticipation of missing it again,,,,I simply stood up from my lounger with a leg on each side, intercepted it about head high and yelled out "confiscated!"

I then sat back down and put the nerf ball under my lounger.

And,,,Nebo chose poorly.

I had kind of planned on yelling out like a football announcer,,,It's intercepted!, but instead "confiscated" is what came out.

That small change in verbage immediately morphed me from a victim to a bad guy,,, in a heartbeat.

The third planet from the sun stopped dead in it's orbit.
Australians and Chinese flew off into space.
I'm sorry,, "Frew" off into space.

Kids stopped yelling and playing in the pool.
No more cackling.
The crickets stopped cricking.
The loudpeakers and canned music went quiet, the breeze stopped blowing and the sun went behind a cloud.

I could sense the change, and it wasn't going to be good, they were all ready to turn on me.

I think even the lizards were massing,,,,

I had to do something, and right now,,, and apologizing to the Cackler was not an option in my mind,,,, but I need to look cool in the outcome as well,,,,I grabbed the ball underneath me,,, stood up and yelled into the pool for the kid to "go deep", and threw it well out there, everything was then back to fine in the world. We started to orbit again,,life went back to normal,,, well, except for those Chinese,,, And they didn't throw it over me anymore.

Yes, the spritzing might have felt good in July,,, end of November, not so much.


It seemed like an hour later it was now 3 o'clock,, and we had to get a move on to get on back.
A quick change, a cocktail in the room and one for the walk and we were heading on back to Islands.

It gets dark early this time of year,, and I'm thinking of trying Forbidden Journey tonight before closing.
yeah,,FJ at night,,, I can't wait!

I had been tinkering with our July dates and looking into adding a room only for the night before our existing reservation, but hadn't pulled the trigger yet. Today I received an email with a PIN code for that night's stay.

I called Disney and the first CM kept me on the phone for an hour and all I got from her was: no codes will apply to July, the code was a guarantee that I could book the same room for a future date for the same price, and that she had done an override on the blackout for our dates and the package would be $1 more expensive with the code applied, and no she couldn't tell me the percentage I had.

So, I called back. The second CM seemed much more knowledgeable. She said: I got a FL resident code that I can't use, the first CM didn't know what she's talking about, and that she'd be happy to book the room for me at rack rate.

Here's the thing. I don't ever get mad at Disney. I accept the prices and don't complain about them. But, today I'm annoyed and after all the time I spent calling them about something they sent me I'm inclined to start arguing. Is it worth it? The first CM seemed to think that the blackout dates could be gotten around. Should I even bother?

Needing the advice from the experts. Thanks guys.

however,, if in the wording of the code there are certain blackout dates already listed,,, and one of those are the day you want,,, then you are SOL, at the mercy of the mangager you get on the phone,,, and yes,, always ask for the manager when things aren't going the way hyou like.

There is no wording about any exclusions at all. All it says is : when you call be sure to mention Package Code:XXX

My DH suggested that you ask if they can do a phone interview. We are job hunting right now, too. Any job is better than no job.

I do love living in FL, but you do have to put up with all the local critters! I walked in my living room one day to see a snake crawling across my carpet .... luckily my cat cornered it before I could go through the rhyme in my head. Yep Red on Yellow I hate to admit it, but I beat that thing until it was flat. No way I could have stayed in this house knowing that thing was loose somewhere!

So you never moved? I'm pretty passive aggressive (hence having DH call Disney back about the code) but, I would have probably moved my chair out of the line of fire whilst giving the cackler a nasty look.

Ok guys, I need more help. We spend a combined 4 hours on the phone with disney today in regards to a Pin code they (apparently erroneously) sent me today. We spoke to 3 different CMs and 2 levels of supervisors with an ultimate resolution of us getting 10% room only discount. (a savings of $100)

While that seems nice, by the time we were through with the phone calls I was pretty upset. I've never, ever been "mad" at Disney, but today they really hurt my feelings. I called them because they sent me a code whether it was sent in error or not. By the time we got off the phone we had been made to feel like we were the disney version of 'extreme couponers', and the type of people who would do anything to get a few bucks off our trip. Being that we've never booked with any kind of special rate or pin code before, we do the most expensive package at BBB every year, and we love DxDP, I obviously feel that's not true. I feel like I've been quite happy to part with my money at Disney, and I hope that's not going to change.

My question is this Neboites (and Marita in particular if you don't mind)-what do I do now? Do I email or call Customer Service to explain that this happened to me? (and of course risk being treated again as a couponer) Or, do I let this go and hope that the memory has faded by the time we go on this trip?
