Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

I RAN!

Pushed my cart straight to produce, and hid among the cantaloupes. ( I can do that) and waited for the heat to die down. While there, I switched liscense plates on the side of the cart with one next to me that was left with the keys in it.

After a while, I walked out wearing my new head of lettuce and proceeded as if nothing happened.

Interesting. I've never met anyone who was in the Produce Protection Program. It must be terrible to be forced to assume the identity of another vegetable.

Diane needs beer.
She also likes a bottle of Pinot Grigio lately.

don't be dissin' your poor, long suffering wife's choice of self-medication. She lives with you and therefore is entitled to Whatever Gets Her Through the Night. I, too am a PG fan, which my husband somewhat unkindly refers to as, "the Bud Light of white wine."

Way to go T-man! But how would Nebo know that he knocked down the display because he can't see it........:smokin:

Oh I'm sure Nebo would know. With his luck, it would fall on top of him when he knocked it over.

Plus he has new bionic ears as well. Even if it didn't fall on him, he would hear it fall. That is if he remembered to wear them.

So, if a produce display fell in the grocery store, and nebo didn't have in his bionic ears, would it still make a sound? :rotfl:

So, if a produce display fell in the grocery store, and nebo didn't have in his bionic ears, would it still make a sound? :rotfl:

Well it would. I used to work in a grocery store, so I know. As to whether it makes a sound for Nebo to hear, well only Nebo can answer that. I don't have bionic ears like he does.

Bear Worshipping Sabanites....

Snorted as I severely constricted my laugh, as I am in a public area.

I must share with my DH...

Oh, and Thank you TM for putting somthing better in my head than a stupid commercial jingle that's been stuck in there for 9 hours! Last thing I heard before coming in to work.

Sorry I've missed so much. Can't wait for more.

You know, I'm not sure if I did these people or not.
(stop it now,,, I mean the posters)

But if I did, oh well, if not,,,, uh,,,,oh well, too.
Hey Nebo!

I'm going to try to catch you while you are logged in. When is your Spring trip to Disney?

Oh yeah, I just might be going grocery shopping at Publix this evening.

Wish me luck!!!

Oh c'mon, you can say it,,,, really ,,, P,,,U B
that's PUb,,,, now here comes the hard part,,,,,normally,, it would be Licks,,,,,,, as in with your tongue licks,,,,Which to me is really disgusting on a family board,,,, Pub,,Licks,,, Publix,,,,,,,,,, no,,, not good. This is why Pubix is a better choice. Much more acceptable. Pc approved, whatever.

Ah Ha! So it was Spanish you were writing in! And what is the cook's vision like? 20/20? Poor Steve needs your lists writ large!!!
Of course I still have him lying in traction in a hospital bed, so I don't even KNOW who this guy is that's doing your shopping...

Is that you Mort? Could you tell them I need a re-chARGE ON MY morphine drip button,,,, oh, and can you tello them too, wyhyle your at it,,,,to chanje teh drip into a "SHOOT AS FAST IT AS CAN INTO MY VANES " BUTTON?

thank you

And why do they call it "traction" when you can't move"

Hmmmmm, :scared1: uh yeah it does, one minute. . . Smidgyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Boy, didn't take much to spook you.:(

(That's what I would do when my step-grandfather got Alzheimer's, he would say crazy stuff because he got confused easily but to him he was not confused. At the time I was really small so I would just say "I'll be back" and go running and yelling "Grandmaaaaaaaaa" :rotfl: )

Not saying your losing it or anything Nebo. . . I mean, it's kinda sorta gone already :lmao: Just kidding :goodvibes

Really, I like that story,,, good stuff.
You do realize I have to tell Gramm about this though>?

I didn't even know it was blocked until you said so. Beats the snot out of me why.

I don't know how to say this... but I found out why Whipp1e is barred.

Honest we had no idea! It's those darn young kids I tell ya!

And no, I'm not going to post what it is or how I found it... PM if you really need to know with a copy of your Birth Certificate or other proof of age (like you know who Potsie Weber is, or something)

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

No, seriously.

This was supposed to be included in the last chapter,
"You know the top part of the cart that folds forward? Where most people put bread, eggs and other stuff they don't want to get smashed? "

Well, before you put your bread and English Muffins there, just think for a second what is USUALLY sitting in that same.
Exact.
Space/Spot.

That's right, a baby/toddler in training pants, if you are lucky. You know, the kid that goes around the entire store, facing backwards! Ten minutes ago, his butt was where you are now placing the Marble Rye.

Your welcome

My bread is inside a bag and my eggs are inside shells that are inside an egg carton... You can't scare me!!

okay maybe I was for a while... but I settled down eventually.

You know, Ok, I know, we all have chores that we must do, no matter what, or how unpleasant they may be. But, face it, we realize, that if we don't do them, they are just not going to be done, right? Whether it's changing the litter boxes, or picking up all the dog parc in the yard, once again, it's an ugly, UGLY job,,,,,,but somebody has to do it.

Ok, nuff said. Here we go..................

Really, dude, you don't have to respond to my comments in detail. I do it 'cause it's fun, but if it's getting to be a bit much, just a short line would be fine. Something like, "OMG, pkondz. You are absolutely without doubt the most amazing person I've ever come across... ever."

That'll do.

I thought it was Ponz, James, Ponz.

Yeah, then you know what happens then?

"Hey, everyone! ponzi's first name is James!!!"

Wait, you're saying there's supposed to be a hymen in Winn Dixie?
now they tell me,,,,,,,,,,,,, and just leave it,,,, ok?

:rotfl: Okay, I'll leave it.... but it's hard!

Strange thing is, my doctor sees nothing wrong with me still driving cuz my one eye can stilll read 20/40 lines.
However, he's 112 years old and drives a Panzer himself.

I'm not sure why, but that last line made me LOL.

Eyerony, the Carpentersville Treat!

Now that was good. I'm willing to bet that 70% percent of readers didnt get that. Unfortunately, we have no cable cars here.

Ah, good. I was worried that nobody would get it.

Actually, I have come across signs like this, and no, It's not a stupid fluke.
When a hard of sight person lays there hand on it,
the braille signage then comes up in, like you said, saying either green or red, so they don't have to actually see the colors themselves.

It's getting more and more popular but the hard part is getting the sight impaired to KNOW this system.

And yes, Ponzi, I made this whole thing up just to try to make you feel stupid,,,,, at least for a couple of seconds.

It worked.

Thanks my friend, well done.

No problemo.

Ok work has been super busy lately. Haven't even had time to finish up the day on my TR, but after reading Nebo's last chapter, I came up with a T_Man song.

Nice job on the tune, Thumpy! :thumbsup2

I try not to interfere in the banter between nebo and his .. um...followers..... fans..... minions?

Fools?

Oh, wait. That just applies to me.

Nevermind.

I stay out of ALLLLLLLLL married adults "sumpton sumpton" :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Smidgy I think that since Minions are Universal property we should go with something more disney friendly. Maybe we could be Captain Nebo's Pirate Crew? :rotfl:

Ship of fools?

Whoops! Again, just me.

I thought the same thing... He may not see it but he would hear:

<BANG!>
<rumble, rumble rumBLE, RUMBLE>
<CRASH!>
<SMASH!>
<BOOM!!>
<tinkle, tinkle, tinkle>

But then I thought: You know how you tend to tune out a constant repetitive sound?

Something like that.

So, if a produce display fell in the grocery store, and nebo didn't have in his bionic ears, would it still make a sound? :rotfl:

Heh. I like that.

Ummm.... ew.

:headache: Not now!!

A few months ago, Kay mentioned that she wanted to play badminton.
For Christmas I got her two rackets and some birdies.
A few weeks ago, I signed us up for some parent/child badminton on Saturday mornings.

...

We have a dog. She's a Keeshond (google it if you don't know... most people don't) and a great pup. She loves to go for car rides when I take the girls to school or go and pick 'em up after.

Kay especially loves it when the dog comes along and gladly gives up 'shotgun' to sit in the back with the dog.

...

The last few days it's been pretty mild around here. Consequently the streets are a slushy mess. Which means our garage is a sloppy mess too.

Which means that if the dog goes for a car ride, I have to carry her to the car so she doesn't get muck all over the seats.

I could stop typing right now, 'cause Nebo knows exactly where this is going. Don't you, Steve.

Yeah.

I picked up the dog... like I've done hundreds of times.
Kay got in first.
I bent forward a bit to let the dog hop in...
Reached out with my arms...

So there I was, with a moderately heavy dog in my outstretched arms and my back bent awkwardly...

<ouch!>

Oh, it didn't really hurt. Nope, not really. But I knew where it was going.

Yeah, I threw out my back.

So heating pad, hot bath, muscle relaxants later, I'm hoping, really, really hoping that I can sort of play badminton tomorrow. :sad2:

Cute dog. And yes I googled. Since we don't have pets I live vicariously through those that do.

Must be a very cute and loveable dog to give up shotgun.

Threw mine out Christmas day, I can sympathize. The heating pad has been my best friend for the last few weeks. That along with my chiropractor, and the hot tub at the gym. Not to mention my massage therapist. I also have this great pain relieving cream that works wonders. The little bottle of "friends" that I still had from when I screwed up my foot have helped...although Nebo will tell you its almost useless the amount I take. Haha.

Anyway, rest, take it easy as much as possible. I hope you feel better soon. Thinking good thoughts my friend.

Um, yeah.

What'd she say?

Does anybody else have the word verbosity ringing in
their ears?

Oh well, I'm not going to copy the original post that you are referring to. Pkondz is not 100% with his back injury and it was really posted for him to respond to. But yes, you are on the money Nebo. It was a wordy post. With this thread, I'm sure there will be another opportunity to engage Pkondz! ;)

You know, I'm not sure if I did these people or not.
(stop it now,,, I mean the posters)

I can vehemently affirm that I have not been done. :rotfl2:

Well no, it's not better, not when you choose to to view the first few letters as in Pepe le Pew. Then we have a problem and I suppose you're going to tell me it's my problem. I never really thought too deeply about the name of the store, I just shopped for groceries there. Thanks to you I now have to think of connotations of the name. :sad2:

And now I can consider myself done. ;)

Pkondz, I really hope your back feels better soon!

We really can't afford for you to try to become more like Nebo!! ;)

Nebo was thinking of you Pkondz but that was after he thought of T-Man. He thought of you for a second, but then he saw something else that reminded him of T-Man so he put your avatar thought on hold and ultimately had to go so he could write a chapter on the T-Man thought association. :rotfl2:

Oh, sorry I didn't respond. I took it as standing just fine on its own without my lame attempt at levity (I can fly!).

Consider yourself engaged with me...

When's the wedding? And can I assume that it'll be a Disney wedding? And are Mr. Buzz and Mrs. pkondz invited?

I can vehemently affirm that I have not been done. :rotfl2:

I've seen pictures of baby Buzz... I'm not sure how to word my thoughts exactly on a family friendly board... Suffice it to say that I'm going to disagree with you.

And now I can consider myself done. ;)

Congratulations.... I think.

Pkondz, I really hope your back feels better soon!

We really can't afford for you to try to become more like Nebo!! ;)

Thanks!

Cute dog. And yes I googled. Since we don't have pets I live vicariously through those that do.

If Nebo says it's okay, I'll post a pic of the pup.

Again...not liking where this seems to be heading.

You don't like it!!!

Well I'm not Steve...but yes...I know all to well.

That's right. I knew that but forgot. Bad ponzi.

Anyway, rest, take it easy as much as possible. I hope you feel better soon. Thinking good thoughts my friend.

It's not as bad as I first feared. I think I caught it just in time to lessen the impact. Yeah it still hurts and yeah it's not fun... but it's no where near as bad as last time. Keeping my fingers crossed...

When's the wedding? And can I assume that it'll be a Disney wedding? And are Mr. Buzz and Mrs. pkondz invited?

Ha! I really debated on the choice of words to try to find one that wasn't slanted towards anything with an underlying meaning. Strike out for Buzz, now we have to have a wedding. I would just as soon settle for some sleep, of the uninterrupted kind.

And really, no worries and absolutely no need to apologize about the other post. It was one of those timing things. I just knew you would get it. ;)

I've seen pictures of baby Buzz... I'm not sure how to word my thoughts exactly on a family friendly board... Suffice it to say that I'm going to disagree with you.

Now we are going to try to carefully word our thoughts? And I still stand behind my post. The answer is clearly yes, but certainly not by Nebo! :sad2:

Congratulations.... I think.

;)

Dang, I just read another post about someone afraid to put their cloths in the drawers at the hotel because, gasp, someone may have used them to put their dirty cloths in :scared::scared::scared: Now I've got to start worrying about the carts at the grocery store :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

Hey, I've worked in public schools for 33 years, I'm pretty sure I've been exposed to every germ out there :upsidedow

Staph,,, I mean Steph, I think I've read there are about 550 cold viruses you can catch,,, but once you get one, that's it for it, you can't get it again.
I've had 549.

It's out there.

Waiting.

Waiting.

yes, you have!!! we waitresses and house cleaners, also. nebo's a mite squemish. I try to tell him "sometimes, it's best just to NOT think about things"

What is it I'm not thinking about now?
Can I stop thinking about what I'm not supposed to think about thinking?
If I drop that last sentence off in the morning, can you have it shortened by Tuesday?

Finally caught up. Took me a while, but I did. Great updates nebo. Loved smidgy's input as well. Can't wait to hear more.

Ah, the Indiana Banana is back, Welcome!

Great song Thumper Man!

Smidgy I think that since Minions are Universal property we should go with something more disney friendly. Maybe we could be Captain Nebo's Pirate Crew? :rotfl:

I like that Shannon. Funny too, I was just watching Dodgeball again last night,,,, ykou know, with
"Steve, the Pirate?"

Garr

Sammie, you don't know how close you just came.
The beer i bought along with the Pinot was Busch Lite,,,,
yep, the 30 pack.

Plus he has new bionic ears as well. Even if it didn't fall on him, he would hear it fall. That is if he remembered to wear them.

Oh, I always remember to wear them now,,, my problem is in remembering when it's time to NOT wear them,,, like when diving into a pool!

Great song by the way, Mike.
Have you ever done a Beatles song?

So, if a produce display fell in the grocery store, and nebo didn't have in his bionic ears, would it still make a sound? :rotfl:

No

Bear Worshipping Sabanites....

Oh, and Thank you TM for putting somthing better in my head than a stupid commercial jingle that's been stuck in there for 9 hours! Last thing I heard before coming in to work.

.

You mean like,,,,,"The neat new spaghetti you can eat with a spoon, Uh Oh!, Spaghettios! ?

Great song by the way, Mike.
Have you ever done a Beatles song?

Beatles are a tough group. Thought about doing "HELP" once, but it never panned out. I would really like to conquer "Hey Jude" one of these days though.

We have a dog. She's a Keeshond (google it if you don't know... most people don't) and a great pup.

I googled it. Cute dog.

She loves to go for car rides when I take the girls to school or go and pick 'em up after.

What dog doesn't love to go for a car ride? :confused3

Kay especially loves it when the dog comes along and gladly gives up 'shotgun' to sit in the back with the dog.

Do you feel like a chauffeur? "Ponzi, to the canine playground please. Keeshy and I want to frolic in this establishment for a bit."

The last few days it's been pretty mild around here. Consequently the streets are a slushy mess. Which means our garage is a sloppy mess too.

Which means that if the dog goes for a car ride, I have to carry her to the car so she doesn't get muck all over the seats.

Right, like your muddy boots wouldn't get muck all over the seats.

I could stop typing right now, 'cause Nebo knows exactly where this is going. Don't you, Steve.

We all do. You were going to take the dog for a ride. Why else would you mention it?

Yeah.

I picked up the dog... like I've done hundreds of times.

Gotta get a workout some how.

Kay got in first.
I bent forward a bit to let the dog hop in...

Well how else would the dog get in? Oh I know, she could've jumped in by herself. Muck and all.

Reached out with my arms...

So there I was, with a moderately heavy dog in my outstretched arms and my back bent awkwardly...

Did you expect it to bend appropriately with a heavy dog in your arms?

<ouch!>

Oh, it didn't really hurt. Nope, not really. But I knew where it was going.

Yeah, I threw out my back.

You shouldn't be throwing out stuff that you'll need later.

So heating pad, hot bath, muscle relaxants later, I'm hoping, really, really hoping that I can sort of play badminton tomorrow. :sad2:

Rub some dirt on it, suck it up and get back out there you wimp.

J/K. I know all too well about back pain. I have a back disorder that causes my back to go out on me every now and then. Would require surgery to fix. I'll pass though. I don't really need the surgery as long as I'm careful lifting and not over exerting myself.

Take care and hope the back feels better soon.

I can vehemently affirm that I have not been done. :rotfl2:

Well no, it's not better, not when you choose to to view the first few letters as in Pepe le Pew. And now I can consider myself done. ;)

I LOVE Pepe Le Pew,,,, "Come with me to the Casbah,,,"

:headache: Not now!!

A few months ago, Kay mentioned that she wanted to play badminton.
For Christmas I got her two rackets and some birdies.

And a DUCK!

A few weeks ago, I signed us up for some parent/child badminton on Saturday mornings.

.uh oh, no good can come of this,,,,..

We have a dog. She's a Keeshond (google it if you don't know... most people don't) and a great pup. She loves to go for car rides when I take the girls to school or go and pick 'em up after.

My boss had a Keeshond,,, loved it to death.

Kay especially loves it when the dog comes along and gladly gives up 'shotgun' to sit in the back with the dog.

...Yeah,,,,

The last few days it's been pretty mild around here. Consequently the streets are a slushy mess. Which means our garage is a sloppy mess too.

Uh oh,,,

ok, that's enough,,,,

I could stop typing right now, 'cause Nebo knows exactly where this is going. Don't you, Steve.

Stop it now, and I mean it!
Yeah.

I picked up the dog... like I've done hundreds of times.
Kay got in first.
I bent forward a bit to let the dog hop in...
Reached out with my arms...

Stop stop stop,,,

So there I was, with a moderately heavy dog in my outstretched arms and my back bent awkwardly...

What part of STOP don't you understand?

<ouch!>

Oh, it didn't really hurt. Nope, not really. But I knew where it was going.

The Dreaded "Twinge",,,,you have an hour, two, tops, before you are miserable.

Yeah, I threw out my back.

So heating pad, hot bath, muscle relaxants later, I'm hoping, really, really hoping that I can sort of play badminton tomorrow. :sad2:

Oh yeah, that'l work. Why didn't I ev er think of badminton when my back goes out?

Hope you get better my friend,,,,, ever hear of Chess Clubs?
