Not now!!
A few months ago, Kay mentioned that she wanted to play badminton.
For Christmas I got her two rackets and some birdies.
And a DUCK!
A few weeks ago, I signed us up for some parent/child badminton on Saturday mornings.
.
uh oh, no good can come of this,,,,..
We have a dog. She's a Keeshond (google it if you don't know... most people don't) and a great pup. She loves to go for car rides when I take the girls to school or go and pick 'em up after.
My boss had a Keeshond,,, loved it to death.
Kay especially loves it when the dog comes along and gladly gives up 'shotgun' to sit in the back with the dog.
...
Yeah,,,,
The last few days it's been pretty mild around here. Consequently the streets are a slushy mess. Which means our garage is a sloppy mess too.
Uh oh,,,
Which means that if the dog goes for a car ride, I have to carry her to the car so she doesn't get muck all over the seats.
ok, that's enough,,,,
I could stop typing right now, 'cause Nebo knows exactly where this is going. Don't you, Steve.
Stop it now, and I mean it!
Yeah.
I picked up the dog... like I've done hundreds of times.
Kay got in first.
I bent forward a bit to let the dog hop in...
Reached out with my arms...
Stop stop stop,,,
So there I was, with a moderately heavy dog in my outstretched arms and my back bent awkwardly...
What part of STOP don't you understand?
<ouch!>
Oh, it didn't really hurt. Nope, not really. But I knew where it was going.
The Dreaded "Twinge",,,,you have an hour, two, tops, before you are miserable.
Yeah, I threw out my back.
So heating pad, hot bath, muscle relaxants later, I'm hoping, really, really hoping that I can sort of play badminton tomorrow.
