Pkonz, you might have forgotten about the kid in the window seat who had to go to the bathroom about 50 times during the 2 hour flight, brushing past Nebo and Smidgy each and every time, but making up for it by being so darned cute.

gone for a day or two and I miss a book discussion (I'm reading the "In Death" books by Nora Roberst writing as JD Robb. I like me a good sci-fi/thriller/mystery/procedural/romance. Flying cars, Serial Killers, cops and erotic moments)

I read "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn. Really good book about a missing woman set in NE Missouri. Currently reading the second Game of Thrones books. I have not watched the show but the first book knocked my socks off! Lots of intrigue and backstabbing.

But we're within walking distance of Universal and some things can't wait.

My back was actually feelling pretty good for a change, even my foot wasn't that bad.

First we had to mix up some Sunny D bottles for a quick look around Uni.

Yes I know they have beer,,, but I do have an image to maintiain,,,,,,,



We visit the ticket desk in the lobby to get free Super Star Shuttle boarding passes. Universal is a 10 minute walk form the hotel,,, but it's a looong 10 minute walk

Besides the shuttle is free,,,,,,,,,

,,,,and so is Universal.

Well, it is if you're going to Universal City Walk,,,,,,,


You didn't think we were going to waste a day ticket on just a couple of hours at IOA or US did you?

Besides City Walk was something I was really looking forward to.



After we get off the shuttle, we go up an escalator and thruuogh an overpass,,,,

through an overpass?? along an overpass? inside an overpass?

we walk on a bridge and exit out into City Walk.


The first thing Smidyg sees is a Italian restaurant,,,,
the firstthi ng I see is Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

We are NOT goig in there,,,,,


For those of you just joinging us,,, i had an unfortunate shrimp episode recently which i still hjavent' lived down,,,

or brought up,,,,,

What can i say about City Walk,,,,

Smidgy went itno a store called,,,, um,,,, I think it was Fresh Food or Fresh Grocery,,,, Fresh Something, anyway,,,,,

It wasnt; a food store though ti was a women's clothin store, so she went in and I stayed aoutside,

and that's when i saw him,,,,

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The Itchy and Scratchy Guy.


iw as just waiting outside takint in the sights and sounds while Diane shopped,,,, i noticed this guy across the way leaning against a post,,,

except he wasn't leaming,,,, he was dancing,,,,

okay, not exactly danceing,,, he wsa moving up and down with his back against the pole,,,,,,

except it wanst' his back that was against the pole,,,, um,,,,,, it was a body part that was a little lower,,,,

Oh, alright! It was his posterior that was anterior to the post's exterior,,,,


He would move up and down,,, but it was subtle,,,, slow,,,,, then he would quickly shift left as if he was just trying to get comfortalbe,,,, then quickly shift right,,,, just looking around, right?

then he'e go back to his slow up and down,,,,,,,

I watched him doing this for about 10 minutes unitl Diane came back out. I asked her if she wanted to dance and motioned over my shoulder to itchy and scrathcy guy,,,,,

she didn't get it,,,, I said "wait for it."

after a mijute she started to giggle and pulled us away from there. We got out of earshot and she started to laugh,,,,,,


I wonder if someone else has a TR where we're the people who stopped in the middle of the road and started laughing for no apparant reason?



We had dinner at Bubba Gump's,,,,,,,

Weren't you paying attention? I didn not need another shrimp incident,,,, especially so early in the trip,,,,


We aite at the Italian place Smidgy firtst saw ehn we came in,,, I dont' rmember what it was called,,, it was pretty good, Smidgy had the fettucini alfredo and I had spagetti with meatballs.

Diane just yelled up that it was Pasta Morey,,,,

After dinner we looked around a little more then left (or was it right) and went back to the hotel,,, I wanted to try out the pool before we checked out the next morhing,,,,

At the hoelt we change into our suits,,,

We grab a couple of lungers and settle in to talk about our day and upcoming days when.....

tIME for a swim! And fast,,,,

I get in the water and duck my ghead under wather,,,, I hope they don't have underwater speakers here too,,,,,

They don't,,,, I hold onto some kind of pool filter thing and stay underwater for as long as I can,,,,

coming up for air,,,,, nope, still playing,,, deep breaht , back underwater,,,,

I'm holding onot this pool filter with all my life,,,, and it breaks!


I bob up to the surface,,,, (what do you call a man with no arms and no legs, floating in a pool?)

I don't know if it's just a conicidence but the next morinig there was a sign saying the pool was going to be closed in a week or so.for refurb for two weeks,,,, Google it if you don't believe me, Doubletree Inn Universal Studios Orlando.
