Orlando on Halloween

We are going to be in Orlando on Halloween but do not want to spend the money on MNSSHP. (I'm sure it's great, but this is a super budget trip).

Anyway....my question is, where can we trick or treat that's close to WDW? Do they have a mall that does it? In our town the mall hands out candy and there are also large churchs that do Trunk or Treat.

Does Orlando do anything like that?

We were there on Halloween and did not do the party. It was so fun seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes in the hotel. I do remember that some CMs were giving out candy at the hotel. But the best thing was that we went to Fort Wilderness, where they played The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is something they did even when DH was a child, so it was a lot of fun to relive it with our own child.
