We have about six hours between leaving the ship and getting on our plane. Is there much to do at the Orlando airport?

It is a fun Airport.. Lots of shopping to be done, and a great food court. I could spend 6 hours no problem, but with kids, I would not want to.

I have heard of people renting a day room at the Hyatt (in the airport) and it is around 75-80$, and you have use of the pool, and the room for the day..THis is what I would do. IT is an awful early morning when you exit the ship...

Just an FYI :goodvibes

We have used a day room at the Hyatt twice after our cruises. We loved it. Our DD (who was 3 and then 4) took a nap, we watched TV, swam in the pool and generally kicked back until our plane left. $75 and a very good deal, in my opinion.

We waited in the Orlando airport for at least 6 hours waiting for our return flight...time actually went by fairly fast. We did a little shopping at the two disney stores...and a few other stores along the way. We also spent some of the time....waiting just hanging out with fellow disers and fellow cruise mates....that were also waiting for their flight...some more time was spent having a long lunch (nice to not be in a rush...even if it was only McDonalds)...The ONLY big problem we had was we were not able to check our luggage until late in the afternoon....so whatever we did we had to haul all of our things around.

We also knew ahead of time that we had a long wait at the airport for our return flight so we brough along things to keep the kids busy....It worked great...and everything was also very useful on the long flight there and back...some of the thing we packed were...color books, crayons, markers, cards, a couple bratz dolls...and bubbles...oh and some snacks.

yes, i agree with scrapperjill...

our DSs were 2 & 4 at the time...and we just stayed at mco, shopped, ate, browsed, etc. time really went by fast! we kicked it at this one section, where they had these big chairs & a big table, where we just lounged & our DSs "spread out" and colored, played with their toys (hot wheels, uno, and such).

re: our luggages...we found this cart thing (the ones that you load your luggage & wheel around in, and you need to return it at specific areas, to get your money back...), and loaded our luggage onto it, and wheeled that around while strolled through the airport! worked out great for us! so "lugging our luggage around" wasn't a problem for us... :flower:

I got a head/scalp massage at the day spa there. It was really nice and relaxing, I plan on doing it again next time I am there in September! :sunny:

Ah yes, the airport day spa! I've gotten massages there, too, and I highly recommend it.

Yes, there is plenty to do there. I was delayed 12 hours there once and lets just say. I know the place like the back of my hand now. There is an arcade and stuff there. If you have WiFi w/ your laptop...the Hyatt lobby has free internet.
