Not sure if this was asked before but I am kind of curious. Does anyone know the price of OKW points when they were first offered for sale and what was the date or year they were first offered? Also, what was the length of the contract?

Thanks!

The length of all OKW contracts is the same, it ends in January 2042. I paid $51.50 in 1992, but I also heard that pre-sales prior to opening in 1991 were in the neighborhood of $48. And don't forget that those of us that purchased early had a great incentive, free admission to MK, Epcot and MGM through 1999.

First points were sold originally in 91' I believe. Somewhere around $58 per point if memory serves. We bought in 97' and paid $68 per point I think it was. There were also incentives for those who bought up until 95' or 96' where they threw in AP's until the year 2000. I didn't buy in soon enough for those but did get to put down the $$ we had already spent on our honeymoon as downpayment which was wonderful.
Contracts back then were until the year 2042...when we bought in 97' they were offering OKW,BWV's and VB.

HTH's:wave:

Someone here will have exact information, but I do remember reading somewhere that the beginning price (pre-construction, I believe) was slightly less than $50 per point. That was in 1991. The contract was for 50 years, ending January, 2042. I bought my first OKW contract in 1994 at $58.50 per point. I bought 230 points at that time, but I believe the minimum buy-in was 210. When they began to raise the price per point, they minimum was lowered to 150 points.

Minimum buy-in in 1992 was 230 points, it was lowered for a short time to 210, then eventually lowered to 150.

Yep, when we first looked into it, 230 was the minimum buy in. By the time we actually purchased, it was 150. We did purchase 230 anyway, because it made sense to us, and a year later we added on another 150, because we found 230 wasn't quite enough for our needs. For us, the 380 seems to be about perfect. Oh yes, we paid $62.50 per point (1997).
