Do any of the parks have something close to the original Electric Light Parade. I know it is still featured at California Adventure at DL. Love that parade.

Magic Kingdom has a nighttime parade called "Spectromagic" which replaced the original Electrical Parade. Between Spectro and the fireworks, my favorite time to visit MK is at night. There's actually a fansite on the web for this at spectromagic.com, it has pictures and sounds and everything.

Edit: It looks like there are two nightly runs for Spectro during most of your stay. Enjoy!

I just saw Spectromagic for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say it bears no resemblance to the original Main Street Electric Light Parade, except that the lights on the floats look like the same kind. The music is nothing like the fast-paced music from the original parade. I was disappointed, but the Electric Light Parade has always held very sentimental memories for me. I just wasn't that impressed with Spectromagic.

I have to agree with the OP, if you are a big ELP fan spectro won't do it for you. Know, I have been looking at the Tokyo Sea parade on line, that looks amazing!!!!

I'm with Brandt79 on this one. We saw Spectromagic for the first time in June and were totally disappointed. Not that it's supposed to be exactly like the original electrical parade, but I was baffled that they replaced that classic parade with this one. I'm sure plenty of rabid fans made sure Spectro didn't survive at Disneyland. And nothing compares to the original parade music! One reason I'm glad I live in CA...I can easily go see Disney's Electrical Parade.

Spectro is no Electrical Parade. Nothing can compare to that. It held my facination was I was a wee one and saw it on Main Street at DL years ago. And it still holds my facination as well as the sweetpea's. Not many things can stand the test of time and generations. Although Spectro is good and enjoyable, dont expect it to be anything other than Spectro. It just doesn't compare.

I didn't think it was all that good or enjoyable....but maybe it was because I was so dissapointed that they did away with the Electrical Light Parade.

I'm surprised that so many people aren't crazy over Spectromagic- I love it!

I only saw ELP once and thought it was good but Spectro is my fave! I still cry every time I hear the song on Mouseworld radio!!!

I feel Disney has made 2 major mistakes, in recent years, 1. replaced Alien Encounter with Stitch, and 2. replaced the Electrical parade with Specto.

Other than that, they're nearly perfect, IMHO.

Spectro has never been at Disneyland.

To my family any Disney parade is a wonderful thing but...the characters in Specro look really weird to us...kinda spooky. Now if you enjoy the look, great, but I long for the classic ELP! We don't even stop to watch specro anymore, just use the parade time for getting in more rides! Each to his own though! Plenty of people do watch and love it-

Now that I think about it, the first time I saw Spectro I thought it was bad, but I guess it really depends on where you watch it from. Don't watch it on Main Street!

I am with everyone else on not being too keen on Spectro, we thought it was pretty lame. I think after seeing ELP I was expecting something on the same line with Spectro but it just doesn't compare. We won't be rushing back anytime soon to see Spectro but my husband and myself have discussed a trip to DL just so we can enjoy ELP again.

Maybe, but I think it was just a matter that its time had come. I loved the MSEP, but find Spectromagic to be wholly and totally superior, in every way. I have MSEP on video, and the music is on disc somewhere here, so when I'm feeling nostalgic I can fall back on that, but I'm very glad we have the opportunity to see Spectromagic again, twice, in January.
