Oriental Trading Co quality?

Has anyone ordered scrapbooking supplies from Oriental Trading? I like their prices on embellishments, but I don't know about the quality. Thanks for your help!

I haven't ordered a lot from them, but from my limited experience I'd say that the quality is fair - definitely not up to the standards most scrappers are used to but not absolute junk. I think it depends on the item.

My sister and I split a few sets of brads and eyelets. I don't see a difference in the quality from other products I have bought so when I run out I will defintely order from them again. The only downside was during shipping not only were the brads mixed with the eyelets but the colors were mixed up as well. It took us a while to sort them again but worth the price. I think we found a deal where if you spent a certain amount of money you got free shipping so we order a few sets which will last a while.

I have wondered about them too. I get their catalogs all the time but I haven't been brave enough to order anything. I guess brads are brads no matter what the price. It would stick to have to sort everything though!

I've ordered some of the spiral clips. They were very nice, but I wish they carried the tiny ones. (My LSS that just got sold had some about the size of the nail on your little finger.)

Other than that I ordered tools...a stamp set of the alphabet, the MM set of alpha rivets - that kind of thing. The brand names of the tools wasn't listed when I bought them, but they were the same as I could get at Mikes/JoAs/ACM - just far less money from OTC.

I keep thinking that I'd love to have some of those acrylic tiles/buttons but I'd want to share with someone. I don't need 18 or 24 of each shape, you know? I just don't know anyone local who would use them.

What color would you like Deb? The square acrylic tile stickers were on sale once so I bought a bunch of them. I could share if I have the color you want.

Okay, I couldn't help it. If you find some you like, I'm sure one of us here would go in on it with you. I keep looking at their tag booklets that are on sale. But I'm not allowed to buy anything right now. I've not been frugal with my $$ lately.

The only thing I have ordered so far is their 12x12 paper racks, got 10 so far. Love them! I finally have something that works for my paper supply.

I keep looking at their stuff too, I guess I will bite the bullet someday when my other supplies get low like that will ever happen.

Thanks for all your replies! I think I'll order some embellishments - brads, etc, but stay away from paper and things like that. I've had cheap paper in the past and it was awful. DD liked it because I gave it all to her for art projects! Now, can I find $60 of stuff to get the free shipping??? Who of us couldn't!

I haven't looked at a catalog for a while but I think most of the paper is names and pages you can find at a lss or online. If I remember they had the SeaWorld and Magic lines from Creative Imaginations. I would bet much cheaper through Oriental. I don't know about the other scrapbook items available from them.

They have a set of chipboard flourishes that are half the price of Fancy Pants and are just as good quality...also their clear stamp sets are from Rhonna Farrar and are rather less expensive!!!

I have ordered from them once, but I can't remember what it was. It was a while ago, I think it was some embellishment. I don't remember having any problems with them and I am sure I would order again if I saw something I liked.
