Does anyone know how long it takes to get your rewards card with your points on it in the mail after you order them? We are leaving on June 25 and my most current statement prior to that will be on June 11. If I call and order them on June 11 will I get the points card in time? Should I just order them now and get the balance that I have? I just charged our park passes to my card yesterday plus a Red Sox ticket so that is about $1000 smackers!!

From what I have read on these boards I would not wait to order the card. It could take a few weeks to get the physical card. BUT, several people have said that once you get the card you can either call or get on line and transfer available funds to your card almost immediately. I have also read there is someplace in Downtown Disney where you can do this.
I'm sure others will have more info.

When I ordered my card on 3/3/2004, the confirmation page stated that with standard shipping (free), it would take 7 business days from the date that it is shipped. With rush shipping (an extra charge), it would have taken 3 business days.

Keep in mind that business days do not include Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. And the shipping date is not the same as the order date. My shipping date was actually two days later...3/05/2004.

My card came exactly 7 business days from the day that it was shipped: 3/12/2004.

If I were leaving on 6/25, I would order the card TODAY! You can always transfer Dream Dollars to the card later but it would be good to have it in your hands as soon as possible. Chances are that your card will not even be shipped until the middle of next week.

You've convinced me to go ahead and order the card now. One more question...how do I get the additional points added to my point debit card before we leave on June 25th?

I believe you have to transfer at least 20 points at a time? I just called the other day and had them transfer to the card I already had. It took a matter of seconds and was all set. I double checked it on their website which was updated with my account info. immediately.

Initial card must have $20 rewards transferred. Transfers after that are $10 minimum. It takes seconds to do transfers online once you have your card.

When we were at WDW in October, we were able to go to guest services in Downtown Disney (only the Marketplace side), and show them our Disney Visa card. They then called the 800 number and verified with Bank One how many rewards dollars we had available to redeem and issued us the reward card right there. I had already ordered most of our reward dollars in September, but between that time and when we arrived in WDW, we had amassed another 25 dollars. Try calling the customer service number for Bank One and see if they are still offering this option. Hope this helps!

Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't the best place to get all these answers be Bank One. Call the number on your card, they will be able to help explain it all. Then you know you are getting accurate info.

yeah, I could call the number from home tonight - that's if they are open after 5:00 pm. I've always gotten the most accurate info right here on the DIS and it's a lot more fun talking to you guys than BankOne...that's what we're all here for right?:Pinkbounc

When I got my card we got it at DTD. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes from getting the card to calling Bank One to have my reward dollars transfered. Now that we already have the card I had to wait for my statement to cycle for this month (which it did yesterday), I called to today to have my rewards transfered over and now we leave on Saturday.
I was happy with mine, we have $187 for this trip which should buy my crew 2 nice dinners!

Recently got my card in less then a week. Once you activate the card, you can add additional points via phone or pc which post immediately to the card. ::MickeyMo

I just wanted to add that when you request your card, leave a $10 balance untransferred in the account. That way, when you're ready to add the last of your points to the card next month, you'll have the minimum amount plus whatever you earned on the next statement.

We ordered ours last week Tuesday and it arrived this week Tuesday so it only took one week to get the card. We only transferred 20 reward dollars. Our billing cycle ends a few days before out trip in July. We will transfer the remainder the day before we leave since transfers to an exisiting card only take a couple of minutes.

Great, thanks for that tip - I have $131 points and left $31 in it. I'll transfer on-line right after the billing cycle ends in June. You guys are awesome!!!!!! I see some "free" character meals in our future:thewave:

i asked and was told you could use the disney rewards at any disney location including the cruise ships.

Remember that when you transfer your points from your account to the Rewards card, they immediately have a shorter expiration date ( I think it's about 1 year- the points I transferred in Jan were given an exp date of 12/04).

So, just in case anything happened to cancel our trip, I ordered my card about a month ahead with the $20 minimum and then called the # on the card the day before we checked out to transfer the rest. Then I stopped at the front desk and had them apply my rewards credit to the room bill (we just charged everything to the room throughout our trip).

This worked great and I felt assured that I wouldn't loose the longer (I think it's about 5 years) expiration on my points in case I didn't need to transfer them over to the rewards card for any reason.

The current cards expire 12/05. At least that's the expiration date on the one I got in April. You're right, it makes sense to only transfer points if you know you are going to use them before the card expiration.

I've never used my points yet. Does each point equal one dollar? For example, if I have 150 points, do I have $150.?? If I go to the California Grill, can I just use the Rewards Card to pay for the meal??

My trip is in September and I had completely forgotten about the Rewards I amassed and now I'm wondering what I can do with them!

Yes that means $150 for your Sept trip--and more if you keep using your card. And you can pay for your meal with them. Last time we used ours at CP and this time we have enough for 2 nice sit down meals :D
