Ordering AP through 3rd parties

Do you still get a "welcome package" from Disney? I spoke to a Disney rep and was told they send new AP holders a "welcome package" which I'm assuming has the Passholder magnet and orange tag to attach to the MB in it? If you order through AAA or other third parties to get a discount, will you still get those items?

Well, I have had an AP for years that I purchased and renewed through Disney and never got a welcome package. I got a slider when I got my first AP magicband. You didn’t get the magicband until after you activated the AP, so the AP could have been purchased anywhere. I have not received any sliders since the first one.

I haven’t ordered an AP magicband for the past couple years or so (since they went to the puck style MB) because I have resort bands and don’t need it. So I don’t know If they are sending the slider with the magicband or separately now. I have renewed through AAA the past two renewals due to the no notice price increases. AAA still had the old prices for a couple weeks, so I saved some money.

Any welcome package would not come until after activating for first use at the ticket booth at a park or Disney Springs. Where you purchased should not have an impact on the welcome package which was AP magnets this past year.

The AP slider if they have them comes with your MB that you customize after you activate and use your AP the first time. That is a separate thing that appears in your MDE for you to customize and then they mail it to you.

We cant activate the AP until we get there which will be after we get our MBs so what's the point of getting the slider if after the fact except for our future trips.

Well with an AP they assume you likely will be coming back. You can try to ask at Guest Relations. Sometimes they have the sliders in stock there that they can give you, a lot of times they are out.
