Ordering AP question

wanted to buy our AP's and if we buy them at the disney store or order online, does it matter for acess to the ap site? Just let ours lapse, so we can activate on our trip, but not sure if both work on the AP site.

When I have ordered our APs online we received a ticket that we had to bring to guest relations to get the actual AP. You wouldn't be able to use an AP# on the disney site because you won't know what the number will be untl you actually get it in your hand. Hope I am making sense.

Actually, you can enter in your exchange certificate number to access the pass holder website, an activated pass in not necessary.
