DD will be celebrating her birthday while we are in WDW. Following a link on another thread I discovered that the BW Bakery does cakes. I am thrilled because after breakfast with Cindy that morning and a full day planned at the MK, there is no way I'd have time to bake one that day, even with the BCV kitchen at my disposal.

My question is, how do I contact them to place my order. They apparently need 24 hours notice, but we only arrive the day before her b'day. Do I call or fax, and do I have decoration choices? Has anyone gotten a cake from them before?

Hi Leigh Ann,

Are you going to have a car? If so I would go off site and get a cake. Most of the stores have bakerys and they would put anything on it while you wait. These cakes are a little pricey for flour, water and sugar.

How are things going???

Cakes
24 hours notice is requested.

5" - $12.50
9" - $25.00
12" - $36.00
1/4 sheet - $48.00
1/2 sheet - $70.00
Full sheet - $102.00

If you do off-site option....I would recommend Publix cakes. They are delicious and cost about $25.00 for a half sheet.

Hi Rich! All is well with us, but I have to admit I am intimidated by the 13 sets of ears above your 2nd countdown! Yikes!!!! Have fun on your next trip, which is enviously close!!

Yes, they are pricey, but I am willing to pay for convenience on that particular day. Perhaps I'd feel differently if I was in need of a $100 full sheet, but since it is just the 4 of us, and we can probably get by with a 5" cake, I am feeling flush!

My daughter surprised us with a cake from the Boardwalk Bakery for our 40th anniversary. It was the most delicious cake I have ever had and was decorated beautifully. I believe it was the 9" and served 6 of us and there were plenty of leftovers (yum!).

Please post back and let us know how it turns out. I would like to order a cake for our anniversary in October while we are there. Would love any details you will be able to provide after your trip. Thanks!

We did a cake from the BW bakery 18 months ago. All I did is call the BWV main number and they transferred me. I will say that the cake was VERY expensive, if I remember it was in the $65 to $75 range and we're just talking a regular sized sheet cake with nothing fancy for decorations. We only did it this way since we were on a tight time schedule and didn't have time to go off site.

Oh Oh ,I left one set of ears off. We are having a little get together I have 1 2 BR and 3 studios reserved. There will be 14 of us,our own Magical Gatherings. Look out BWV...

The cakes at the BW Bakery are not that expensive. The cake we got for my parents' 40th (see above post by Memeremouse) was only $25 or $30 and it was amazing...truly the best cake we've ever had.

To get in touch with them call the main Boardwalk telephone number at (407) 939-5100 they can connect you to the bakery.

Thank you michelemouse! That was just what I was looking for! I will post in late June to let everyone know the quality of the cake for future reference.

Rich, better add on that extra set of ears, before someone backs out of the trip for lack of representation! I love your definition of a little get together!

Edited to add: Yay! My first Nick&Cindy smiley! I am truly touched!:cool1:

:bounce: I had them make a birthday cake for my husband. A little tiny one. Cause it was just the two of us. It was very good..

July:earsboy:

July -- Was the tiny cake enough for the two of you. Do you think it would feed two adults and two kids?

Nick -- Hey, quit poking me! Or as heard from the back of the minivan, "Will you stop touching me? Stop touching me!!! MOM!"

We were married last year at WDW and while I can't make comments about the BW Bakery the cakes that they produce out of the Grand Floridian are truly spectacular.
