Ordered annual passes in March

I also used it extensively throughout my weeklong fall 2016 and Feb 2017 trips without any questions or problems- so between the 3 trips maybe went through about 100 castmembers who never blinked an eye or questioned it at all. I would think if I needed a new AP card at least ONE CM would have said something!!!!!

My friend just called me to tell me she got her annual passes renewed last month and they sent her the bands and the magnet already. Ughhhhhhhhhh

As soon as you renew there's nothing to activate so bands are sent as soon as you customize. It's not like getting a new AP and having to wait until it's activated.

Magnet though is just luck of the draw it seems

Correct. You should've gotten a new AP card with the valid dates on the back. An expired ap card is not to be used. I don't see how 100 CM's accepted it without question and didn't let you know it was expired, but I'm not saying you're lying. If that's the case then those CM's need better training because they should've told you you needed to get a new card from guest services

When I renewed my current AP at guest relations I specifically asked for a new card, and was told I don't get a new card, and that I should just continue using the card I have.

I have no reason to make any of this up, I am just relating my own first-hand experience with my AP.

The 'current' AP cards have 2017-2018 dated onto the back. We didn't get them until about April, if I recall correctly, so we were still using the 2016-2017 ones until then. The 2016-2017 ones should continue to be accepted through the end of the year for discounts, because... it's still 2017.

2015-2016 cards shouldn't be accepted, but plenty of merchandise and food service CMs don't care and/or make exceptions and/or just don't notice. The even older cards that were green with a character on them and either an orange or black stripe REALLY shouldn't be accepted.

With regard to Guest Relations - they're very good at problem solving, but they really don't know everything about tickets and passes (if they did, my job wouldn't exist). They're too busy trying to appease people who want something for free because of a minor issue.

I renewed in April, did not go to guest relations or a ticket window. I have been able to use last year's card for all the discounts and even to enter the parks

i ordered and received my annual passes/bands in march. I didn't get the sliders but got a note saying they will come later because of shortage. I also didn't get my magnetic mouse head for the car.

Did anyone else get theirs after their magicbands came in?

I haven't broke my annual passes in yet. That will happen soon.

Should I email them?
I bought vouchers in February, and will activate them next week. I haven't heard a thing from Disney about sliders, newsletters, and magnets. i have zero interest in the magnets and hardly any in the sliders (unless that gets you something in the parks). I think I read somewhere that Disney is kind of scattershot in how they supply that stuff.

Hahaha oh my goodness. I guess maybe you didn't have a date hand written on stamped on it? Disney is never the same. This is why everyone gets confused. Hahahahaha

I have to activate my bands at the front gate. I renew every year. Always had to do this since the bands have been introduced.

I'm seeing everyone has different and random experiences with all of this. What may be happening to some isn't happening with others. This post proves it. Disney is indeed all over the place.

I think it might be different for out of state. I'm Florida resident and I don't have to do anything when renewing. I think out of state has to go to guest service

I'm s Florida resident and I have to do this. We tried skipping it and they stopped us at the turnstile said you have to go to the front and activate them. Plus they give us the cards with the dates on them right then and there.
