Orbitz discounts 15-35% plus additional 15%

Saved over 300.00 last April going through Orbitz and only issue was they charged for kids. I had to talk back and forth with Disney to square that away. I was able to link into Disney with my code- hd to call for it and had to link the magical express but it worked out well in the end!

So did you book without the children and then call Disney to get them added to your reservation?

I have been able to get the Disney confirmation # and successfully link to MDE booking through Cheaptickets and Expedia.ca.
Since Orbitz appears to be the same entity as Cheaptickets (correct me if I'm wrong), I would assume it would be possible through Orbitz also.

Does Cheaptickets.com give you the "Disney" confirmation right away or do you get it later?

I have 2 sets of reference numbers. I have the cheap tickets number and a hotel reference number. The hotel reference is all letters. That can't be right, can it?

We saved an additional $222 on the Beach Club using the CELEBRATE promo code for late May/early June! I also used Orbitz last May for Boardwalk and had no problems. I had to contact Orbitz to put in my room request since I couldn't do it directly and we got exactly what we requested.

I did have to contact Orbitz last year for my Disney confirmation # but this time they put it in the confirmation email that was sent right after I booked. As long as they keep offering 15%-20% off promos, I don't think I will be booking room only directly with Disney ever again.

Orbitz has a code for an additional 20% off! TICKTOCK (works on all of the hotels)
Cheaptickets has a code for an additional 25% off CHEAPTASTIC (but it doesn't work on all the hotels)

expires today

I had a reservation booked with a 20% off code at cheaptickets, so when the cheaptastice 25% code came out I rebooked (over the phone this time) and saved an additional $150....for a total of $781 over the Disney special offer! I'm very pleased with that number!!!! :cheer2:

I am still finding better deals on the Expedia UK site for many of the hotels. For example, Pop for our one night in March was $103 (total), but on Orbitz was $123 (plus taxes and fees) and wasn't eligible on cheaptickets. Coronado Springs was $162 on cheaptickets (with 25% off code) plus taxes and fees. It was only $132 total on Expedia UK. I guess you probably have to play with dates and check all 3 sites to find the best deal.

I was dedicated to booking directly with Disney directly until recent years. I'm getting better discounts through reputable online travel companies. Even got a 30% discount for Christmas week at CBR. Never had a problem linking anything.

I tried to book through Orbitz and based on another thread I booked a BC room for 2 people with the discount and then tried to change my party amount (5 people). Their price for 2 people is the same as Disney's site, but when you change the party size it increases the rate. I tried two different times by calling Orbitz and both times they told me I couldn't change the party size without them increasing the rate--which would make it higher than booking through Disney. It was a bummer, I thought I had a great deal going :confused3

Even if you book with Disney and have more than 2 adults the price will increase. That is why Orbitz is higher with more adults.

I just checked Expedia UK site as well - that was $90 vs. $123 per night. What is the downside to booking through the UK site, if any?

I just booked last night with Orbitz just 3 adults. When I put in my two grandkids (2 yr and 1yr) it said the resort wasn't available. I do hope I can call wdw and add the kids. Also I tried to link with mde but neither of the reservation numbers would work. I hope I haven't made a mistake booking through Orbitz, but it was so much cheaper that wdw.

From what I have researched with any site you book, other than disney, just say 2 adults- anything more and they increase the price. Once you are able to link the reservation to My Disney Experience, make sure to get the Disney reservation number, add the other guests then- free. As long as the room you chose can accommodate that number of people you should be fine.

You can't modify a reservation in MDE no matter who you book with. Changes will need to go through Orbitz.

Yay, after 3 phone calls and on hold for about a hour. I got wdw confirmation info, added my grandbabies, got a crib for the room and just personalized our magic bands!!!! Dh and I used the mb last nov and love using them. But I don't know why the little ones need them?
