I sort of disheartened by this "new approach" the salespeople seem to be taking (and sticking by.) What do they have, a sales quota? First place, Cadillac, second place, set of steak knives, third place you're fired?

One person reports back, it's an abberation. Two people report back, it's a trend. No wonder the guides are always telling people that the internet boards are full of "wrong information." They are actually full of people sharing information they'd like to keep clients from knowing.

LuvnDisney, I would not pay $75 per point if I knew everyone else on this board (except us poor NYers ) was paying just $70 per point, and you were being punished for the sin of sitting through a sales presentation and not buying.

Hope you san get a higher power to help. Sounds like maybe you should do what someone else on the boards did and tell them you'll go the resale route. That might bring your incentive back.

Carl,
To try to answer you questions, first is owning at the BCV important to you? If that is where you want to purchase, then call them and if your state is registered I bet you can get the current deal if you tell them you'll buy resale. If BCV is not important, buy resale. There are some good prices right now especially at OKW.
As far as WDW burnout, I look at the DVC as my FL. vacation home. We purchased at OKW because it is away from the mian places at WDW, and is like owning in one of the many gated places in FL. If we do not want to do the WDW parks, there are many other attractions to go to. Also there is VB & HH. Remember the DVC is not for everyone, so maybe another timeshare option would work better for you.

Disney Vacation Club is the only timeshare that I would ever consider. I would prefer a BWV timeshare, but the only ones I have seen in resale are more points than I would consider buying. The 150 minimum would be plenty for me, if I did decide to purchase. If you buy more points, you must also pay more fees per year. Since I am getting a little burned out, I don't think I would want to use over 150 points in a year.

They don't appear to be willing to give on the incentive so what is the likelihood that BCV resales will be available later this year? Based on your past experience, do some people who buy turn around and sell fairly quickly for whatever reason?

We'd really like BCV but frankly are so disappointed with this sales incentive thing that maybe we'll wait. Just wish they would be fair to everyone so everyone has the same opportunities.

Thanks again--you are all such a great resource!

There are VWL resales available now - so yes, sometimes they hit the resale market quickly - call the resellers and tell them what you want. They will give you a call before they post on their web site. There aren't likely to be any bargains on an immediate resale - between the commission bite, the closing costs, and the demand people are looking for top dollar when selling something they just bought. But its the principle of the thing.

There is always someone who buys while on vacation who gets home and regrets. Or someone who buys that then has a lifechanging event that needs to sell. Since Disney doesn't buy back your points, these will hit the resale market.

Carl, same for you - I'm in the process of closing on 150 BWV points resale - call the resellers and tell them what you are looking for. If it comes up, they will give you a call. You don't have to do this with what is listed on the market today - something might show up next week or next month (there were two 150 point BWV contracts two weeks ago - I bought one of them - now there are none on the resellers site. Both had been listed for over a week while I pursued a different resale). Who knows what will be listed next week). High demand contracts (low points, or a new resort) often won't hit the listings before they are sold - the reseller has some names in her rolodex she calls before she even posts them.

Carl,
"The Timeshare Store" has a BWV 150pt listed right now. It is at $65 a pt., but who knows if it is negotiable.

Crisi, I just bought into BCV a couple of weeks ago and my guide contacted me within 2 days and we transacted everything necessary to enable us to book on the opening BCV booking day within 2 days. He really gets things done. If you want his name just e-mail me.

Luvn Mickey:
We are in the process of completing a purchase of BCV entirely over the phone. Call our Guide, Bettie Pleasant, who I believe specializes in phone sales. Her number is 800-827-7104. If they have "territories" she might direct you to someone else, but I would change guides after the treatment you describe. Best of luck! -Tess W

Tess W--Thanks for the info. I have asked my husband to try following up with the Sales Mgr at DVC for some answers. If that doesn't work, I think I'll call your guide.

I'm really ready to do this but sure don't want to be taken advantage of when everyone else is getting the $5 incentive. Just doesn't seem fair.

Carl--I would be interested in knowing if you have any luck with the incentive if you decide to buy BCV. Thanks very much.

I hope to be a BCV owner soon and join the ranks of all you other happy DVC'ers.
