Oprah's 12wk Boot camp??

Hi Ladies!! Our thread has been quiet for 3 days - I hope everyone is hanging in there....and most of all - keeping your spirits UP! Somehow, I lost 4.5 pounds this week...that is a HUGE jump for me in 1 week. KNowing how my body works, I don't think I will see scale movement next week. PLUS, Easter is Sunday & I am going to have some allowed cheats I think. I don't know. The fact that Easter is coming is REALLY scaring me. How are we going to handle it?

Hi everyone! I'm still hanging in there!! I've just been swamped with work and home life so no time to post. I'm glad to read that everyone is doing so well. I haven't lost much weight, but the inches are moving in the right direction...down. I now have almost 9 weeks left until my cruise and I need to lose another 1.5 inches in my waist and 1 inch in my hips. Doing the boot camp, I definitely feel like I can do it. I'm not worried about the weight too much as long as the smaller clothes fit.

Congrats to everyone for doing so great! :cool1:
 
I meant to come by yesterday for our weekly weigh in but I was just swamped and NOW the kids are home for spring break as well. I dont see things getting better soon! :3dglasses

Im down another pound. I was glad for the weight loss but sure seems like things are going slow. This week I have eliminated dairy as well. I started back on the cereal but found that on both days I had it, I was craving something sweet by 10am. I realized it was one of my trigger foods and cut it out again.

See the great progress your all making, keep it up gang and good luck michelle. I dont know what the south beach diet is, but I hope it works great!

And to think - they were TIGHT 5 weeks ago...it is amazing! woo hoo! Of course I have NO MONEY to go shopping right now for new stuff....and it is almost getting warm enough for shorts (another month?)...poor me - haha! ;-)

I ate my body weight in SUGAR & BREAD yesterday. But I am not going to let it get me down! I am BACK ON PLAN today. I am no doubt going to do a double workout today!!!!!! How did everyone else do Easter Sunday? :flower:

I think I was sick of jellybeans and chocolate before 8 am... so to answer your question not good... double workout for me too today. :rotfl2:

I know what I need to cut out of my diet to start but what exactly do you eat for breakfast etc. Can you recommend a good book or website? speaking of eating your weight on sugar and bread I felt hung over this am from all the junk!
 
Bob Greene's book is WONDERFUL! "Total Body Makeover". You can also go to Oprah.com for some ideas...there is also a link to Bob Greene's website on Oprah's site (I don't recall his web address).
As far as eating, I am a "grazer" when I am dieting. I eat all day - but little things here & there. I eat a low sugar protien shake called "Advant Edge" for breakfast that is 100 calories. Throughout the day I have, almonds, grapefruit, strawberries, low carb soup, raisins, tuna, veggies, yogurt, etc. I probably have 1200-1300 calories a day. This is what works for me - but everyone has something different that works for them.

Well checkin in one pound smaller!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: For a total of 9lbs for the first 6 weeks!

I would be really happy if I can keep it up and loose atleast 6more for the next 6 weeks and then I just plan to keep going until i reach my goal.

Did okay on this end for Easter (PS Happy Belated Easter to you all!). I think I had the least bad food on this easter than in my whole life. I did splurge and eat some of those marshmello puff candies and I also had a very small peice of cake. On the good side I didnt eat any of the macaroni and cheese or any of the breads.

Im down a size from when we started and this weekend I bought a pair of shorts another size down! They are a little tight but definately wearable at this weight and I plan to try them on every monday morning until their perfect! These shorts are the beginning of my vacation clothes shopping and Im feeling pretty good about it!

Hey gang, I plan to do a Nancy Tucker tape once the kids get into school. The weather in finally improving so we'll be able to go walking now too.
 
Hey!! I didn't lose any weight last week, but did lose 1/4 inch in the hips. I'm losing a lot more inches than I am weight. I'll take it! Anyway, I bought a formal gown last year for my cruise and it was real tight in the hips/abs area last year. I tried it on Saturday and not only does it fit in the hips/abs area, but it is too big in the bust area. I guess I'll need to get it altered.

I was also bad on Easter, but went straight back on program yesterday! Great job everyone!
 
Just checking in ladies! Is anyone still with me? :flower: I can't wait to have my weigh in Monday, i'm feeling really good! It is raining right now, so I guess I won't do my usual power walk....it is downstairs to the exercise bike & total gym for me today. How are you all doing??? Hang in there! :wizard:
 
Stephanie, I'm still with you. However, I'm not losing any weight. I've been working hard at it though. :confused3 It is driving me crazy!
 
Sorry I haven't been posting my updates...it seems once I commit to a long challenge like this I just mentally do it and forget to check in. I know makes no sense. But I have stuck faithfully to Oprah's boot camp with two exceptions...I missed 2 days one week...and for half the time I have done the Oprah's favorite weight exercises (about 5 different ones) and half the time I haven't...those really make my arms sore because I'm too lazy to get smaller weights and have to use 5 & 10 pounders only...but I'm committing to doing those 6 days a week from here on out.

I can't remember when we started this thing...but I have steadily lost weight...I've been back to WISH since January 20th and am on my 11th week of committing to lose weight...I've lost 20 pounds to date...so I'm averaging about 2 pounds a week...but really I lose .5 pounds, 1.5 pounds then a whoosh of 3.5...wish it were just 2 a week! :)

I walk 4 miles Friday/Saturday/Sunday (sometimes I up one of those days to 6 miles) then the other three days I alternate between an hour of cardio pilates and the 4 mile WATP DVD... I can tell a big difference in my body...my waist is trimmer and my legs are building some core muscles...my dh says my tush is smaller but with my hips measuring 44 inches...they sure don't feel it! :)

When is our last day anyways??? I need to go out and buy a swimsuit or something to commemorate completing this challenge!! :)

GREATJOB ALL!!!! This will pay off for us BIG!

I'm hanging in there! I have to do a double workout sat & sun to keep on track though - it has been a very busy week! I am excited about my Monday weigh in - I think it will be a good one........I had a really HUNGRY day though - so hopefully, the weekend will treat me better.....
