Maybe the big surprise for the rest of us is that it's an "Oprah" model of the car. I know Ford did that with some of their Explorers - put a designer or merchant name on certain models.

I would not ever consider Oprah one that doens't contribute or do all she can for these causes and more. Remember her in Africa? She touched so many children's lives and is continuing to do so. I really feel she is one celebrity who "gets it" - those are rare.

a totally idiotic question Im sure but Ive always wondered how does one go about getting tickets to any Oprah show? I mean if you want to go see Leno, you call and leave a message. Im assuming they are really hard to get tickets to Oprah though on any given day.

Well, I think she could have spent her MILLIONS on something else, like USA Hunger, Humane Society, etc. Not give out Cars to people who probably don't need it.

Oprah is an extremely generous person and gives more to charity than any other celebrity I know - she truly uses her celebrity for good and I don't think that giving cars to her audience would take away from any of her philanthropic ventures.

Not only does she give herself but she inspires others to do the same.

She remembers where she came from (and it was not pretty) and honors that she is living the american dream in her generosity and in her sheer excitement and enjoyment of life!

On Channel 7 news here in NYC they did a promo for a story they are doing on Monday where a reporter goes behind the scenes at the Oprah Show. They showed the reporter and Oprah standing on what looked like a staircase outside. As I looked behind them there were cars with BOWS ON TOP. Given what the original poster reported, it would in fact seem like she is giving away new cars.
