Looking for recent opinions of these dining places. I'm not going to go to all, but these are the one's I was more interested in. Also, should I avoid most MK Resort restaurants on MVMCP nights? Is the Concourse Steakhouse quieter at lunch than at dinner?

Boardwalk Bakery or Caribbean Beach Foodcourt -- Quick lunch on arrival day
Sci-Fi Theater or 50's Primetime (lunch)
Plaza Restaurant or Casey's Corner (dinner)
Whispering Canyon (lunch or dinner?) -- is this really loud? How is the food? Is there a quieter portion to the dining room?
California Grill (dinner) -- Never been here before. How flexible are they menu wise? What I mean is if I want just plain potatoes, instead of gratin one's, is this a problem?
Le Cellier (lunch or dinner?) -- been for lunch a few times, but never for dinner. Is there much of a difference?
Roaring Forks (quick lunch/dinner) -- staying at the WL & have a mug, so I thought it would be a nice alternative.
1900 Park Fare (dinner) -- did 1900 last year when it was Pooh.
Concourse Steakhouse (lunch or dinner?) -- did dinner here last year and it was very good. Was suprised that it was not really loud considering it is next to Chef Mickey's.
Sunshine Season (quick lunch)
Garden Grill (lunch or dinner?) -- how is this for lunch? They used to offer rotisserre chicken (or fried, can't remember), but I noticed the menu changed some.
Crystal Palace (dinner) -- this was closed when I went last year. How is the dinner? Worth the money?
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) -- went here last December and was a little disappointed in the food.
Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner)

I would vote for SciFi over 50's PTC. SciFi is a nice, cool, relaxing break in the middle of the day. I'm not that impressed with 50's PTC.:crazy2:

I've been hearing favorable things about the CP, so we are going on the night of our MVMCP! ::yes::

Good luck on your dining decisions! :teeth:

Wow...holy choices Batman!

I'll give you the lowdown on the one's I know...

I'd pick 50's PT over Sci-Fi... better food/atmosphere. Pretty easy call

Casey's has GREAT hot dogs. (And this from a non-hot dog lover) But comparing it to the Plaza is an apples to oranges kind of thing. The Plaza is very good also.

California Grill is fantastic!! A real must do. They are very accomediating from what I've seen-- going so far as to get different potates from another restaurant for a couple of diners I saw.

Concourse Steakhouse.- I good lunch spot. Quiet as all get out and a nice 90 minute trip out of the Magic Kingdom for a while.....

Hope this helps you!!

Hi,
I can not say enough good things about California Grill. The food was GREAT!!!
Garden Grill: I went for lunch a few years ago. The food was just okay.
I must stick Kona Cafe into your mix of choices because I think a lot of people don't think about this place and the food is great there too. I would rank it right up there with California Grill. It is at the Poly. I stayed at the Poly last year during the MVMCP and did not find it to be any different on the nights of the party.
ENJOY!!!

Whispering Canyon and quiet should not be used in the same sentence. We have enjoyed this many times, but it is a festive family place with kids running around, etc....

My family also likes Crystal Palace. Plenty of character time and something on the food bar for everyone.

Have only eaten at Concourse for dinner one time. Was Ok, but not as magical for us as others. My kids would rather have more atmosphere than this. They did provide crayons and coloring pages, though, so that was a hit.

Have only eaten at Le Cellier for dinner and have Dec. PS's there this year. check out the menus at Deb Will's site for the differences. I think they are minimal, but can't remember.

Thanks for your responses so far.

MINNIEBOWSER,
Thanks for the info on GG & CG. Am really on the fence about GG, so this helped. Dined at the Kona Cafe last year for dinner and yuck! Dessert was tasty, but the dinner was awful.

solotraveler,
Thanks for your inputs too. I have dinner reservations at the Concourse, but am thinking of changing it to lunch.

disneyfan551,

My boys and dh and I enjoyed the Sci-fi drive in. The atmosphere is so fun and the food was delicious! The California Grill is very impressive and the boys ages 10, 11 liked the view and the menu. I'm not sure how flexible the menu is but the staff is very helpful. The Garden Grill was another place that we all enjoyed. The food was enjoyed by all. I recall that it was served family style and I don't believe that we had choices. I would recomend all three of these, especially if kids are present.:sunny:

The Plaza at Mk is a definite pick.
Le Cellier for lunch or dinner is good more steaks available at dinner, lunch is more sandwiches & salads you might want to look at the menu. www.wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm
Concourse we have never had a bad meal there. Lunch is very nice and a great place to escape after a morning at MK.
LTT we did this for lunch having been a previous visit when it was soo good but the menu changed and we were a little disappointed on the upside they let us open the restaurant for lunch with a proclamation.
Sunshine Fair- great foodcourt for lunch at EC
Cal Grill- Food is excellent. The cm & chef will work with you regarding food preferences.
WC- Find we like lunch because it is not quite as noisy. Food is always good. You might ask to be seated in the library which is quieter.
Roaring Forks-one of our fave counterservice locations, we have come over from FW just for lunch or a late night snack ofcourse we always bring our mugs.
CP-Went there about year ago with a 4yr old. I try to stay away from the character meals they are just too noisy. But this was pretty good. Its buffet but good. We had a nice server too.

We have always loved Sci Fi...it is a great place to take a lunch break.

Boardwalk bakery...nope...we have given it plenty of chances, it is way over rated.

Le Cellier...I would go for lunch there...the entrees are not all that impressive, but the soups and appetizers are wonderful, along with the breads...we always just order a bunch of appetizers and share...makes a great lunch.

Garden Grill...really nothing special.

We love LTT for lunch.

We love Whispering Canyon for breakfast...lunch and dinner we weren't that impressed with. Try Artist Point for dinner...wonderful.

We just returned from DW and had two lunches at the Whispering Canyon. It was not loud at all but it wasn't crowded.
I don't know what dinner is like. We had the Nutty Chicken salad.
Very good.
We also had a fantastic dinner at the California Grill. Though my DH and I eat anything, I would say that they would be very accomodating to your dining needs. We also ate in the wine room which is off to the left side of the restaurant and much quieter if you prefer that. The only draw back is that we had to get up from our table to see the GREAT fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.
Have fun deciding!!!!!!!!!

Dh and I and the 3ds 15,13 and 11 did whispering canyon for dinner in aug due to the reviews here. While our waiter was attentive he was not into the fun and jokes. This made our ds very upset. They were jealous of all the other fun tables. I read another post just back made sure she asked for a fun server before they were seated. If you want quiet ask to sit in the fireplace area, boring but far away from everything., DS had the wings and didnt like them. 3 of us had the skillet, the ribs were tough, stew looked like dog food. We did enjoy the pulled pork and chicken the most and the beans and cornbread were good. Little ds like the unlimited cookies and cream milk shakes.

I had to laugh when I read this.:p Because I ate two dinners here last year and absolutely loved them both. I heard such GREAT things about the dinners at Morrocco (Marrekesh) and Norway (Akersheus)(sorry if it is spelled wrong). I tried them both and I hated the food at both places. The food was a little too weird for me. I am your basic meat and potatoes type person. It just goes to show you how different peoples tastes are. Good luck in your choices.:wave2:
