I'm planning DD's 6th birthday party for later this month, things are coming together nicely.

DD chose Lilo and Stitch as her party theme. I have come up/borrowed some ideas on what activities and games the kids could play. We will be having the party at a local park (nice parks here) which also has a playground, something else for the kids to do.

Here is what I have so far...

Bounce house
Pinata
Pin "something on somebody", haven't decided which part yet (Bought Lilo and Stitch poster for this).
Painting craft (tropical theme clay/ceramic figures that the kids can paint. Will glue a magnet to the back and the kids can paint them, have to go to Michael's to buy them.

Is this too much for 5 and 6 yr olds to do? I realize that there may be some kids who will want to do some activities and not others. I just wanted to have different options for them.

Opinions? Ideas?

The bounce house and pinata are always a favorite. I also like pin something on someone (lol), I would be leary of a painting craft, just because it is so messy. I have done decorate your own goody bag, which also goes over well. You can order hula skirts and many other tropical stuff from oriental trading.com good luck

Lilo and Stitch

hmmmmm

Maybe a limbo contest (everyone wins of course)
Instead of a ring toss, maybe a lei toss or a coconut toss

you can make easy lei's by threading cupcake tins onto thread/gimp or other cording.

I like the make-your-own lei idea... the problem is that I already bought 4 dz. leis from OrientralTrading!:bitelip:

I didn't even think about the mess part with the painting craft. I think we'll have to forget that one.

I like the "coconut toss" idea!

I also like pin something on someone

LOL

I just decided that I'll make tiny hula skirts for the "Pin the something game". The poster that I bought has Lilo and Stitch doing a Hawaiian dance wearing hula skirts. Now I have to decide the "someone part", Lilo or Stitch! lol:crazy:

One more thing that I forgot to add...

We are going to have a picture taking area and will set up some props (inflatable palm tree, fish net (bought at party store) and add some other tropical looking stuff. Every kid (that wants to) will have their picture taken wearing a lei and sunglasses that they'll get to keep. When I send out the thank you notes, I'll include the pictures for the parents.

Any more ideas on games?
