I'm a sandal person - I hate socks, and I hate athletic shoes. However while in Disney I find wearing sandals ends up KILLING my feet.

I saw these at Payless the other day. Think they could hold up to Disney walking?

No Crocs? That what everyone recommends on here. I dont go for them because I have my tennis shoes good and broke in and they do me fine.
Those look like the strap would bite into your feet after a couple miles. On the plus side, they would probably be good for water rides.

Champion is a good brand so I would think they would last. The only thing I would check is if the strap is velcro so you can adjust it if your feet swell during the day.

That is funny. I am actually wearing those right now. They are the only shoes that I can wear that don't kill my feet being pregnant and swollen, very very comfortable. I walk around in them all day all the time.

ps. I HATE crocs.

For me, I'd say no. It's hard to tell from a picture, of course, but they don't appear to have much in the way of arch or heel support. I think they might be fine for a day, but not a whole trip.

If you like sandals keep with it, just find a more cusioned pair to wear. I happen to love reefs as they are all that I wear at Disney and I have no problems. Several other people here like the teva sandals so it might be worth you checking into those. :thumbsup2

Those are cute. I woul djust break them in beofre going to make sure they do not hurt. I am a crocs flip flop kinda gal so that is what gets me through out trips.

With all the walking we do in Disney, we wear sneakers. That is what works for us. I cannot imagine those shoes give you enough support. But what works for one, might not work for another.

I am a personal fan of THESE Crocs:

Sorry, I know you said you hate Crocs, but I don't see how anyone can hate these. They are called Scutes and are the most comfortable shoe ever invented, IMHO. :goodvibes

I have heard that many people LOVE to wear crocs to the parks - I just can't get past the look - sorry!:)

I know that we have found very comfortable, all day wear, flip flops (with traction) in brands like Nike and Sketchers.

As for tennis shoes - I have a couple of pairs of Sketchers that feel like SLIPPERS!!! Most Sketchers are made for comfortable walking - I would try a pair out!

I got past the look and wore them. On my feet they are fine for short periods. Not for all day park touring.

I have a few pair of Ecco Sandels I can wear all day...

I have to agree with you on skechers I bought a pair of the cali skechers at shoe warehouse three weeks ago and i havent worn any other shoe. I am super comfortable in them.

ITA! I don't know how I made it before my Croc flip flops (Athens). I was just trying on sandals yesterday and they all felt horrible and slipping back into my Athens....well no words can describe how good they feel:cloud9: ...especially a good, foot molded pair!!:lmao: .....so, I bought 2 more pair of Athens and am all set for my August & September trips!!

No. They won't have enough padding on the bottom. I have similar shoes - Skechers bikers mary janes, and they are very thin on the bottom. I've tried several brands of shoes that are similar to the ones above and my skechers. They don't have enough cushion. With all the miles of walking you do at WDW, your feet will hurt, not to mention if the strap on top cuts into your foot if it swells...

my MIL and I are on a quest for breathable, comfy, tennies for WDW. She is also a sandal person, hates tennies. We tried on these:

They are comfy and cool. We don't know if they will have enough padding, though, since they are a running shoe. I do know that they have way more padding than my skechers...

...just a thought. good luck!

I so wished I liked Crocs on my feet, but I just can't bring myself to wear them either. My kids have them and they look really adorable on them, but I just can't do the dutch looking ones. My mom has the thong type style and they are really comfortable though. I'm seriously considering those.

Anywho, last year I bought 3 or 4 pair of sandals for our trip. The Born sandals were really comfortable but took some getting used to. I got a pair of aerosoles that were OK, and I also bought a pair of Teva flip flops and they were good for the first half of the day, but started to irritate in between my big toe. I ended up wearing sneakers (and I don't like sneakers either - only for exercise). With the sneakers, I didn't get one blister and my feet felt fine at the end of the day.

I never had a problem before I had kids and then my feet took a turn for the worst. :confused3 I had a size 6 foot and now I'm definately a 7 (and a very high instep which never posed a problem before).

I know I wasn't much help...Aren't you glad you asked? :) Coming from someone with bad feet, I could recommend the Born sandals. There are several different styles so you could probably try them on in a store. I bought them online at Zappos (I think).

They look cute, cool & comfortable but they don't look like they have much support which you'll need for a lot of walking. Also, do they look like they'll hold up when (or if) they get wet on the water rides (Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, etc)?

I love my tevas. They are so comfortable, non slippery, cool, quick drying, oh and did I mention, comfortable.:cloud9: It was worth it to me (I'm usually pretty cheap) to pay the $70.00 or so. That was 3 years ago & I still wear them alot and they are in great shape. They do have less expensive styles. They have several adjustable straps so you can really get them to fit well.

Also, they don't rub my heels, never a blister or sore feet.

Keen
My new favorite Keen sandal is the Venice H2

I also have a pair of Newport H2s as well.

I have worn the Newports 2x to Disney, and they were great for a day's worth of walking.

They are a bit spendy, but so comfortable, and they are holding up very well
