I live in Singapore and met up with some friends recently... the topic of the
Disney cruise came up and one of them remarked that they seemed to be having a really strong advertising push at the moment here.
Which is true... for a while there were train stations and buses with
Disney Adventure adverts everywhere... and they have a tie up with my primary bank which means every time I open my banking app I see a picture of the Disney Adventure on the login page, and this bank is running a few Disney Cruise related promotions at the moment... and there is some
Disney Cruise Line themed Christmas event going on at Jewel Changi at the airport...
Though interestingly enough I don't know anyone in real life who was trying to book on December 10. But the general feel is that there is a lot of interest in the Disney Adventure, just that no one I personally know was aiming to get on the first few voyages.
I'm personally waiting a bit to book - more than a year is a bit too far out for me with regard to holiday planning (annual leave)! I should be pretty flexible with dates so I'll see what happens when the next wave of dates are released...
Very true, but higher populations mean more Disney fans who have been itching to get on a Disney ship which has been out of reach for decades. Many of our family and friends who live in Asia would not fork out money for a regular cruise but they jumped on this opportunity. Going heavy on IP's seemed to have worked for this crowd!
Honestly this is me, I have never been on a cruise (was just never something that attracted me) and the Disney Adventure will likely be my first cruise...
