** OPENING DAY PRICING 2015 Pt 2 April - August: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

I remain :confused3
In writing, your TA confirms "there are no rumors of any charters " (my emphasis). This would include the 5/25/15 sailing as well then. Did you read it as confirming a charter?

I read her email as there are no rumours of any charters on the specific cruise I asked her to investigate. When I replied with my thought that it was being confused with the 5/25 Alaska, she already knew that DCL had not posted that one for booking.

You DO NOT CANCEL it, you simply modify it so you can change the date to the cruise you are wanting to book down the line.

Sorry you missed out on booking on board. It's always good to book if you think you are going to sail w/i the 18 month must sail by window that is attached to OBB. You could have always booked it and then if the OBB wasn't allowed to be used on the Europe sailings, you could have used it on something else instead or simply canceled w/ no penalty to you. So sorry the on board agent didn't talk you through the process properly.

I doubt it....but does Disney have a grace period for post cruise to book another with the 10% discount?

Just so I am prepared for my call.....would someone mind summarizing the different mid-ship categories? I can't keep them straight......and why one over another....

I'm also curious for future reference.....why is 7A so popular? I understand its the navigators balcony...is that better than the regular balcony?

I am hoping to book The Disney Wonder for Alaska, 2 inside cabins, for July 13, 2015. 2 Adults per cabin. Deck 2 9C.. This will be a surprise cruise for my husband...thank you...

Regardless so many combine that first one with the repo... I wonder if they will see a drop in bookings on it due to that.

No, there is no guarantee you will have an opportunity to book with a 10% discount once you leave the ship. Randomly, some people get a post card offer, but not all.

If you want mid-ship, just decide how high you wish to be. Basically, the difference in categories is different decks; and "A" on a verandah category is mid-ship. Lower category numbers will be higher decks, higher category numbers are lower decks -- again with the "A" designation being mid-ship. Category numbers will shift to other decks with differing letters, generally referring to forward or aft locations. Again, if you want midship, just decide which deck(s) are of interest and ask for it that way. If you want an oceanview at midship, you will have to be on deck 1 or 2.

I think part of the "popularity" of 7As is that there aren't many of them so they book quickly, plus it's the lowest category of balcony rooms.

Enjoy your cruise!

Have you been reading this thread? :faint:

Sadly, yes.
Obviously as a family of 5 we expect it to be pricey. It's a matter of how pricey. I saw a family of 5 on the cruise we want for about $13,000. We'd be willing to pay that. I don't think we'd pay $18,000 for lower category staterooms (we'd prefer 2 connecting rooms to a family suite). We'll see that happens tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Quite frankly I'm surprised that my husband is excited about this and agreed to book it. He was ok with the $13,000 price tag.
As an added bonus my brother lives in London so we could probably see him and his family before flying home. :)

Here are the quotes from my TA for 2 adults this morning with no previous OBB.

The cost for the 6/1/2015 Alaska sailing would run $3641.74 in category
10A and $4971.74 in a category 5C. The cost for the 6/8/2015 sailing date would run $3641.74 in a category 10A and $5223.74 in a category 5C.

We went with the 10A on 6/1/2015 and ended up with a Secret porthole room! :cool1:

How many people per room 2A or 2A1K ?

We are on the same cruise!

We have 2 adults, 1 child
Category 10A
$4416.84- no insurance and we had the 10% OBB discount
($1661.42 for first 2, $1094.42 for third person)

Looks like you got a good deal. We didn't have a 10% OBB discount. We're going to try & reshop when we're on the Fantasy this May, maybe we'll be able to save a few$$$s.

My 2nd choice was:

2 Adults
Disney Dream (4 Day)
June 1, 2015
Concierge Cat. V
$3,453 :crazy2:

Needless to say; $3,847 for a 7 day on the Fantasy next May, was a little easier to swallow. ::yes::

If you book concierge, there is no 10% OBB discount.

June 29, 2015 Magic. Copenhagen to Dover.

Cat T -- 1 bedroom suite --

2 ppl, with ins, approx 30,000

What a steal

Looking at opening day pricing I'm dreading wot they gonna b like 2moro for us silver members!!

My DH & I were undecided on whether to do Baltic r med in cat5c but going by previous comments it looks the decision being made for us! :confused3

Disney Fantasy Aug 22, Western Caribbean 2A Cat 4a 1871,10 per person 187,44 tax Total 3939,64 OBB no ins, no transfers

We will be booking this one tomorrow. We will be booking a lower category but at least this give us an idea.
Thanks for posting

Booked 12-Night Baltics (B2B!)
2A-9A $6837.88 (NO OBB/no insurance/no transfers)
2A-9A $6837.88 (same)

Very surprised that the 11 night is that much more than the 12 night (if you add in the OBB discount, I suspect it was about $1000 more per room). TA said 11-night Iceland was by far the most popular cruise. SPHs all sold out, concierge all sold out, and 7As.

SORRY this needs to be corrected! My TA booked the wrong second cruise (explaining why it was cheaper!). The correct pricing for the 12-night Baltics is:

2A-9A $9666.24 (No OBB/No insurance/no transfers)
2A-9A $9666.24 (same)

OUCH! I like the other price better :)
