Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Well, time to do some work. Have a great weekend. Take care of Lil Miss Cutie Pie.

I'm here. The kids are being good. I used to have problems with Anthony - he was bitter that I took Tammy away from him (she used to live with them), but he's been getting along with me now. He's 8. I just asked him to make sure, and he popped over here to see what I was doing.
Jeannie is - hmm. I have to count for this one. She's 17 months old.
It was no problem getting them to sleep. We put them in a queen sized bed together and they went right to sleep.
There are kid toys and dog toys everywhere. Plus my sister is here to help and her mess is everywhere.
It's kinda hectic, but we'll survive. We just got back from a walk with the kids and the dogs. Woooo!
Jeannie is so sensitive though - I told her no and to leave my wallet alone (last night she took everything out of it) so she went and hid in the dining room.

Happy Saturday afternoon!

DH just took off to get some sort of glue to install the new faucet in the kitchen (don't ask me why he didn't get it when he bought the faucet :confused3 ). He asked me to take out everything under the sink. No big deal really, but I thought the time was right to get some sort of organizer. SOOO much stuff, you can't find anything. So I sent him off to also look at organizers and new shelf paper.

I got the thought in my head to make some beef stew today ( I make a good one) and we haven't had it in a while. DD doesnt like it for some reason.

I figured out my oil change challenge. I will take off Monday afternoon, about 2pm. I called the dealership for an appointment, but they said I dont need one, they have an express team for that. Cool beans!

They also have free snacks, movies on a big screen TV, and 3 computers with internet access. Much better than wasting my weekend time with an oilchange at a place where you just sit around. I can work from my couch at night. Next week will be busy, another forecast!
Why do we bother, it changes every month anyway! But it pays the bills.....

OK, off to clear things from under the sink, oh JOY!!!

Marita, why don't you just have your oil changed at one of those instant oil change places? Don't they have them in Florida?

I just drive in, stay in my car and 10-15 minutes later, it's all done! Just have to roll your window down a couple times to tell them what to do and pay. Easy peasy!

Good idea, WT, about doing something to "welcome" Uma back. I don't have any good ideas to suggest.

I'm heading out shortly for a movie and maybe dinner with a friend. Hope everyone has a great Saturday evening!

Kay, if I don't "see" you again before you leave for vacation, have a GREAT time!

Thanks, Moo, I will check on that. Although I like the "do it during work time" better;)

I cleared out the stuff under the sink. No less than 6 bottles of Soft scrub, 4 huge bottles of cascade, 3 things of HOt Shot wasp and hornet killer, a ginourmous amount of Handy wipes and sponges, and I dont know what else. No wonder it was cluttered:laughing:

Oh, and a bottle of Kaboom Shower cleaner and some toilet cleaner! Why were they in the kitchen?

DH came back with an organizer, but it looks like it holds 3 pots and 3 lids from the picture, and takes up a lot of room. I doubt that will do anything. But I am keeping quiet.

Off to buy beef stew ingredients

Kay- If you post it then remember to edit it out. Or PM some of us... and we can help PM it around.

. Such as Twinkie gets a plasma TV. It would be wonderfu if you would take goog notes and fill me in on any inside jokes that develop.

Goog use of vocabulary there Kay! The plasma TV is not on the horizon... actually none of the list is.... though I gave DH the list and said he would pick a baby because he can get the rest without my cooperation. Ha.

Ok, when Windy returns I vote we have a practical joke all ready to go.

I am all for it... but she is a very hard on to prank. See below.

WT we pulled a trick on UMA last time she went to WDW. It was Twinkie's idea. We used abbrevations that she didn't know. Twinkie came up with a list so we could talk and know what others were saying but UMA couldn't. .

Yes but either she didn't notice or she pretended not to notice (I pick the second) so it kind of fell flat. Which really bummed me because I worked so hard and since I am actually shy(ish) in real life it was a big effort to PM the entire active list of the old thread... most of whom had never "talked" to me.

I have an idea too. But I want to hear Kay's first.... how long will you be gone Kay? I am sure you said but I don't remember.

I spent the day working on moving. Met with the realtor this am and that was depressing. And now we are the proud leasers of a 10 by 10 storage space.. it even already has boxes in it! My house however is a shambles.

I am also bummed that I missed the picture show.
:cool2:

If anyone is curious to see the stars of my Trip Report, I just posted a photo of the star: The Tweed Bag, the co-star: The Wallet on a string, and the supporting actors, Lowell and Kay!

That is so not true, Kay! Loved seeing your and Lowell's pics.

I missed Wheaties' pics earlier too Twinkie. Hopefully they were some of the same ones we've seen before.

I went to see Music and Lyrics this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Hugh Grant has a pretty decent singing voice. Who knew?

And it was hilarious seeing him do those 80s dance moves! :dancer:

I am tired......my mom is not happy and thinks she is going to come home....my mil is doing good and I am not

my supper wsa top secret......

WOOO HOOOOOTY, Twink! Glad the hospital visit went well.

:lmao: You sure don't have to worry about Cheetos calories, Marita!

As far as WW goes, you could work some Cheetos in, depending upon how many points you have for the day and how big the serving is. A whole bag would not be advisable! Thanks for the weight loss Woo Hooty. Two pounds this week - hopefully more next week.

Spongie - LOVED your photos. Especially of the kids consuming Twinkies! Is that a Ding Dong I see in your daughter's hand, though? Or King Don. Or whatever they're calling them these days . . .

Kay, here's how I quote the edit text:

Copy the edit text (Ctrl-C), then go to where you want to place the quote.

Type in
Paste the text (Ctrl-V)

Then type in [/quote}, but replace that } with a ]. I had to show it that way so it wouldn't quote the text in between.

Yes my daughter is the rebel she had to have a ding dong

We were out at WalMart today literally moments before the really nasty weather struck, and I heard the following priceless gems coming right out of my own mouth and directed to my dear, darling, delightful, distractible 7 yr old daughter, all within a 30 minute time frame:

"Take your arm out of the blood pressure cuff." (pharmacy)

"Get out of the freezer." (frozen foods)

"Because it's a food display area, not a bed." (deli)

"The pita bread is not a pillow." (also deli)

And those are just the ones I remember. Good times.:sad2:
