Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Hubby and I do not get gifts for holidays or special stuff.......usually we say .....lets go to Disney ....and we do.....and then we may get something special and then it is a surprise.....

40 years in May....I got married at the young age of (let me think....) 8 years old.....:rotfl: I was so young and innocent.......ROFL....

but I was young ....we wed at the age of 18 and in four days I turned 19...so it was young.....hubby was just shy of his 21st birthday...we couldn't even buy liquor.......

That's really nice, Pumba. You are one of those rare and really good statistics. You've been married to same person for 40 years, and got married very young which is usually disastrous. Kudos to both of you. I was married at 17, and DH was 18. We would have been married 34 years by now, which is a sobering thought. He was killed in a car accident when I was 22, so we never got to spend those decades together, but I really believe that we would still be living happily ever after. I hope you and your DH will have many, many more happy years to enjoy each other. :cloud9:

Kay! I LOVED your last chapter! My laugh-muscles are hurting now!!!!

You really are one of the very best Trip Reporters of all time!
Hall of Fame destined!!!!!

Thank you, thank you. :goodvibes Too bad there isn't really a TR Hall of Fame. Or is there? We could start one. There are several people on this Open Mike thread that belong there. :) Anyway, thanks again for the kind words and thanks also to babynurse1 who took time to go read the episode.

I'm here to say "Bye". Our sitter should be here in 45 minutes or so. Don't have too much fun without me.

Celery, I'm surprised you have to take the magnesium citrate. I would think that after two weeks of liquids there would be no pooh: left.

Three words for ya:
Liquid
Hot
Magma

And that's all I'm saying about that.

I came through my surgery. I'm home now. First day was pretty rough, next day a little better, next day even better.

Hello celerystalker. I love your name. :rotfl: I'm glad to hear you came through the procedure without too much trouble, and if you keep making that "better every day" progress, you'll be  in no time!

YAY!!!! How are you feeling?!

You look soooo skinny already :cutie:

Dont let any cats jump up on ya  !!!!!

Thanks Ute! I feel skinny. Except I'm swolllen.

I'm showing my mom your video birth control.

It's 100% effective! (Trust me, I KNOW!) :rotfl2:

It's the Vasectomy Video!!!! :scared: ((snip snip!))

Wendy - I just got all caught up on world events. You live close to Trolley Square??? We were there a couple of years ago when we visited SLC.

Also saw the choir and went to Park City and partaked in some winter sporting events in the summer. Like we had some Capital One miles :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Loved riding the ski lifts in the dead of summer. Yeah - we are cool like that.

Rode public transportation to Trolley Square. Had to change bus lines twice cause we were tourists and didn't know any better. Should have called ya

:dance3: :dance3:

Yeeooooowch! That doesn't sound fun! Magnesium citrate's not too fun as a colonoscopy prep, so I can hardly imagine it after being on a liquid diet for a while.

Glad to hear you came through the surgery OK. Thanks for checking in.

Evening, peeps! My meeting ended earlyish today (hurray!), so I decided to just go home for a bit before my exercise class at the pool tonight even though I'd rather just sit home and watch TV. At least it's in the warm pool because it is still chilly here. Below zero again last night.

Twink, I had trouble remembering my age when I was in my mid-thirties! No such trouble in my forties, though.

Wow, are you sure we're not related? :rotfl: This sounds very familiar. You, too, are missing the shopping gene. I don't need candy, and flowers wilt in my presence, especially roses, so I really don't want them either. I like non-perishable gifts!

Kay, I am indeed missing the shopping gene! I don't have a shred of it.
Maybe we are long lost sisters? We are close in age, it could be.........

A new installment from you and grammy, YAY! off to read them.

The diversity event today was a great success, people showed up for free food in droves and paid no attention to any of the displays :rotfl2:
And the food was indeed hot dogs, chips and cookies. I spun the wheel the HR department set up and correctly named our HR manager. I won a little candy bar and a pin, woohoo!!

Happy Un-Birthday, Twinkie!!!

MAN!!! If I knew you then, I could have shown you around. I love it here! I do live nearish to Trolly Square...I almost DIED! It's hugely sad around here locally. There is memorial services going on. One of the gals who was killed came here during the Olympics and fell in love with it and decided to move here!!!! That is so ironic and sad.

I would have insisted you come for dinner. Next time?

Hide the silverware. Where is Baby Nurse? Still showering I bet. How about you Lil G? Have any words of wisdom? I will have you know that my lucky numbers paid off last night. And this morning. Helllo.

Wheat Thins

Bah.

Will you (the collective you) be my Valentine?

And.

Where's my Twinkie and my Moo?

K.I.T.

xx, Sid

Sid-cake!!!!!!!!! So goog to see you (the singular you, unless indeedy you have multiple personalities, not that there is anything wrong with that). I have missed you too.

Goodness. You do take this anglophile thing seriously don't you?

Ha Marita! Posts like that make me miss working for a company that had a pharma sugar daddy. Lots of meetings with free food and posters to ignore. Actually the company always supplied beer and wine too so after a few whiles the posters where hilarious and we had a rolicking good time.

Hey! I was in SLC in 2001. I would have taken you out for dinner... I even had an expense account "back in the day".... we just have to talk about science.

Grammy- capital one miles....:rotfl:

Celery- Glad to hear from you. I was starting to get worried.
