Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Golly Joe. I believe them all. But I vote for #3.... cause why would you make a round trip? who has a meeting on Christmas Eve? Maybe you do. Now I have to hunt around for your secret identity... I know Uma is Gwen. Maybe you are one of the Association?

Hi Kimmie! Yes please play!!! We all want to know that you snuck out of the house wearing acid washed jeans to elope but that his motorcycle broke down before you crossed state lines...:thumbsup2

Marita- sorry about you having to get dressed and everything. That *is* a bummer. ;) As to your daughter picking the hunks.... maybe that is genetic?;) As Bill Cosby said... the curse of the Garden of Eden is "may you have kids that act just like you did"....

Dubbya- three hots and cot, eh? I am sure you did your very best (now is that the lawyer oath or the girl scout one?). But why do you want a worm? I thought you were more a crispy chicken sammich kind of guy.

Ok. I have been up for long time. Ironing. Blech. Just in case my DH gets a real job while I am gone. I am now headed over to the (sports) riddle and I sure hope someone left some mints lying around.... or that we are playing under trivial pursuit rules and black jack is considered a sport.

Good morning everyone.

Early birds alright. Did you even go to bed?

Snowing lightly here this morning. I will have to shovel soon.

Twinkie I am about to iron the new dress shirts the guys just got. I thought Nicholas better have a back up whiter shirt. I can see the first night at dinner we have an accident. With Hannah I am going to take hair clips to hold on a napkin as a bib.

Morning Pumba, we are always nice to one another, we just joke in a funny way.

Yu tu.

Sorry about your computer problems Uma. It is funny how a little snafu can really ruin our day.

I am happy to report that the sports riddle is really more like a Laffy Taffy riddle.

Hello everyone. I am back. From my trip to the frozen northern tundra. For to bury my grandmother. It was not an easy trip.

I am on page 23. I am NOT reading the intervening 40 pages. If something important happened, someone please tell me.

smooches to everyone - even W. :teeth:

Good morning everyone!

Amy, I"m glad you're back. I hope you are doing okay.

Joe-Number three is a lie! (And that food is disgusting!)

Thanks Twinkie. I restarted it and it's a little better. I just got all my chores done so I guess it's a good thing!

DRE!!!! That's GREAT!!! You ROCK!!!! How did you do it????? Dieting minds want to know!

I'm an 8 Cow wife!

I read that story. Very cool and very truthful. I had never heard of Johnnie Lingo.

So you want my secret huh? How much are you willing to pay for it? :lmao: :lmao: (I won't take cows)

No, I am doing a detox. For two weeks I am eating nothing but protein, natural fats (limited), and vegetables with very, very little carbs. No sodas at all. I am drinking water, and tea with splenda but that's it. I haven't started my weight training and cardio yet but I begin tonight. We bought a total gym and I can't wait to get started!

After two weeks I will be on the Body for Life plan. It works well for me. I lost 21 lbs on it 4 years ago.http://www.bodyforlife.com It's awesome because every 7 days you get to eat anything and everything you want. Keeps you from feeling deprived and you get to enjoy the foods you love without "cheating".

It looks like a really good program. A little strict on the water only but detox is what it is. I'm really happy for ya!

Johnny Lingo was done again in 2003. I LOVE that story!
I think it's a good family movie night flick.
I've seen license plate frames that say "I'm and 8 cow wife!" :snooty:

I have a **** squisher and a bone looker atter coming up ......Feb 8th and then after that I will go for a blood sucking test.......that will be 14 hours without FOOD.....just water.....I sometimes get all weak when I go that long......so had better do it on a saturday so hubby can wisk me off to feed me ....

1. I have laid on the beach on the island of the extinct dodo bird.
In August 1979 we made a port visit to Port Louis, Mauritius (which used to be called Ille de France and was home to the dodo birds). We attended a reception/party at the US Consulate (they also had all of the Miss Mauritius contestants at the reception) and they offered us the use of a beach house on the north end of the island and I did spend one night at this beach house so this one is true (I have pics of this beach). Alot of South Africans used to vacation on Mauritius.

2. I had baaluts and dog in a night club in the Philippines.
In May or June (I don't remember exactly when) of 1980 we had a ship's party at a night club in Olongopo (this is the town that was outside the gates of the Subic Bay Naval Base). The club provided the food which included a whole roasted dog (they had a carving station for it and there was no doubt it was a dog) and there were jars of baaluts on the tables. While some of the crew did have dog meat and some did eat baaluts I was not one of them. I stuck to lumpia and San Miguel so this is the one that is false.

3. I was the only passenger on an executive jet for a round trip flight from Germany to England on Christmas eve.
I was stationed at Ramstein AB in Germany and we paid the civilian employees in England. Normally the checks were just mailed. We had some computer problems that delayed printing of the checks until it was too late to mail them in time for them to be received before Christmas (payday was supposed to have been a few days before Christmas and needless to say the people in England were not happy that they had not been paid). So I was asked to hand carry the checks to England. The checks were finally printed late on the 23rd and a "training flight" of an Air Force Gulfstream 6 passenger jet with me as the only passenger left early on the 24th for RAF Mildenhall and RAF Upper Heyford. I almost got stuck in England because the plane had problems with their IFF. It had to be working for the plane to take off, it didn't have to work once you got in the air, only for take off. My wife would not have been a happy camper if I had not made it back that evening and had to spend Christmas in England without her. So this one is true too.

My ExDH is a Marine and told me all about those Philippine night clubs!!!

I doubt he really told you all about those Philippine night clubs;)

And you should probably be glad that he didn't:teeth:

He told me enough to damage my delicate sensibiliteis, for sure!

I'm unable to delete that part of my mind!!!

Thank goodness you didn't eat that carp! I would've had to think of you differently then! Hehehe!

Joe,

I woke today and ran eagerly to the computer to find the answer to your truth/lie. But there was no answer yet! :sad2: I will say, the explanations were worth the wait. What a very interesting life you have had. I think I would like to ghost write your trip reports! And my guess # 2 as a lie was correct :). I actually had a feeling there was a lot of truth in # 2, but that you had not actually eaten the dog and the whatchamathingies. :rotfl:

Amy didn't know about your grandmother. Hope your okay.

Dre great job on the weight loss.

Joe I too am glad that #2 is a lie. That is some weird stuff to eat.

Almost done packing for the kids and now I think I should take at least half out. Especially for Hannah. My problem is she likes to wear dresses which is taking up a lot of room even if they are small. Then I have all the shoes, Crocs, sandals, Black patent dress shoes and white dress sandals. Plus I packed shorts just in case she wants them instead.....

All the suitcases are not going to fit in my car. I will have to break it to hubby we will have to drive the truck to the airport. :lmao:
