Oops! I Did it Again!! New Years in Disney 2014 **Completed 5/23/14!!**

The poor guy on the jet ski over shot his turn and fell off… I felt bad for him because it was soooo cold out.

Once the show was over, it was time for our FastPasses for Toy Story Mania, so we headed over there. We asked if we could go through the wheelchair entrance after we had gone through the Fastpass part, so that mom didn’t have to climb the stairs again.

It made our Fastpass wait pretty lengthy, but overall it was worth it to not aggravate her knee further (because I was ready to make my parents walk all over the MK the next day).

After the ride, which I beat everyone at, we headed to the Backlot Tour. It was really cold, so the upper levels (away from the water splashes) were full to capacity. They also did not have anyone act as the captain/deck hands, as they just went through the motions.

We rode towards the back of the tram, and enjoyed the tour. Once off of the ride, we went and toured the costume gallery and shopped a little bit.

Once we finished with the Backlot Tour, it was time for our ADR for 50’s Prime Time Café. We checked in, and had a 15-minute wait for a table.
They called our family’s name, and we were brought to a table. We requested a waiter we had in the past, who was really awesome, but we were told he only worked lunches that week. The waitress we had was decent, but just went through the motions of being a server… no extra fun, or anything. I ordered the Pot Roast, which was delicious, while mom ordered the Fried Chicken.

Our family has eaten at the 50’s Prime Time Café every trip we’ve ever taken, so it’s for sure one of our favorite restaurants.

After we ate, we went to see the American Idol Experience, which dad deemed as bad karaoke. One of the judges was a little too harsh on one of the girls that sang, so the audience was a little shocked and it put a damper on the rest of the show.

After the show, we went to One Man’s Dream and then finished off our night with a final viewing of the Osborne Lights.

Up Next: Our last day, Magic Kindgom, and Narcoossee’s!

I was surprised when we finally watched the Jack Sparrow thing and saw how cool it was. It's really easy to overlook that attraction.

This update couldn't come at a better time, because we'll be at DHS and eating lunch at the Backlot Express TODAY. Yes, you read that right ;)

Even though I love Star Wars (though not a crazy fan), I used to really dislike Star Tours. It's one of our favorite rides now, and the only 3D that my wife can actually see!

Keep the updates coming! This is a great report, and sounds like a really fun trip.

OMG! I hope you guys had fun in DHS! I'm going to look out for a trip report from you! I'll try to post the final day soon. I've been so busy lately, haven't had a chance.

Alright, so for our last day in Disney… we decided to go to the Magic Kingdom. We got ready and went to the bus stop to wait. After a LONG ride (I think our driver got lost), we entered the Magic Kingdom.

I love all of the small details Disney does with decorating for the holidays!

We decided to go ride Pirates of the Caribbean, and then grab some lunch afterwards.

This is my favorite scene in PotC. Since I am a redhead, my family always used to bug me when I was little about the pirates saying, “We want the redhead.”

Once we were off of Pirates, we decided to go grab some lunch, so we went to Columbia Harbor House and grabbed some chicken tenders/tuna sandwiches.

My dad wanted to ride the Steamboat… again, for the thousandth time. (He’s obsessed).

After the steamboat, we went back over to Frontierland to use our fastpasses for Big Thunder Railroad Mountain. The standby wait time was pretty high (I think it was over an hour), so we were pretty happy we had the FP.
We decided to walk over to Adventureland and grab a Dole Whip to use up some of our last snack credits. The line was super long as usual, but we made friends with the people in line so the wait wasn’t too bad.

This is a terrible picture of me, but you can see the line in the background…

After eating our Dole Whips, we walked over to the Haunted Mansion and decided to wait the 20-minute wait. We decided to go through the interactive line so that I could take some pictures.

I love that they finally added the elusive engagement ring in the new line area….

After the Haunted Mansion, we had a FP for the Jungle Cruise… the entire trip the lines were packed for the Jungle Cruise, so we were happy we finally got to get on it.

While waiting for our FP time, we went and people watched for a little bit.

I love that they even added lights on the little shack in the water…

Our guide was pretty boring, and there were a lot of people on the ‘cruise’ that did not speak English, so it was dead silent on the boat…

After the Jungle Cruise, we went and walked through some of the stores on Main Street. It was getting close to our 6 pm reservation for Narcoossee’s, so we said our goodbyes to the Magic Kingdom and went to the bus stop.

14269087393_b679163c77_c.jpg

I love these double length buses, because not that many people have to be left behind anymore…

14062266579_de712fe85e_c.jpg

We arrived back at the Pop Century, and everyone got ready pretty quickly to go to our ADR’s at Narccoossee’s.

14062249088_c4b1748571_c.jpg

Once we arrived at the Grand Floridian, we had a few minutes to look around the lobby. Although I’ve never gotten to stay at the Grand Floridian, I do love to visit and spend time in the lobby/listen to the band. Hopefully one day I will get the chance to stay there, even if for 1 night!

14062298750_d6f24b8f90_c.jpg

Once we arrived at Narccoossee’s, a very nice server took our drink orders. I ordered the ‘blue drink’ that I had seen other guests sipping on when we first walked through the restaurant… I wasn’t overly happy with my choice, but I didn’t hate it. Mom ordered a mojito, and asked for them to make her something different because it was sour. Finally after two tries, she gave up and asked if she could just have a rum and diet coke… and the server obliged.

We placed our orders, and everyone received their lobster and filets. Once we finished with our entrees, we received the dessert menu and ordered. (The almond crusted cheesecake is AMAZING!!).

Honestly, Narccoossee’s was the best meal I have ever eaten at WDW. If you are ever on the Dining Plan and have 2 credits to use, you should definitely consider eating here. The service, and the food are impeccable!

After dessert, we paid our tip and went shopping in the gift shops and the Basin soap shop. I purchased a few things, and we went back to the Pop Century.

Everyone packed their stuff up, and we went to bed pretty early since we had to wake up at 4 am the next day!

Our plane left around 8 am, and we arrived back in New Orleans on time.

I am hoping I can convince my parents to go to WDW again this year… Mom is all for it I believe, so cross your fingers for me!!

Thank you to anyone who read, and I hope you enjoyed viewing my pictures!! If I do get to go to WDW again, I will know what kind of pictures to take to do an even better Trip Report for you guys! ☺

LOVED this trip report! The story was hilarious and the pictures were amazing. You have to go back so you can write another one!

It is funny how writing these things ends up dictating what photos you take. After we landed on our flight home, I had to run back to the gate waiting area to get a shot of a "12" for my day 12 header :) I've also learned to hold on to all of my receipts so I can remember what I drank and where!

We loved Narcoosee's as well last year. We had the best waiter we've ever had at WDW (or anywhere, really), and the food was sensational. Glad you enjoyed it as well.

Thanks for sharing your story. It was a great read leading up to our trip (and during it)!

Haha, you are definitely right about the picture taking. Thank you so so so much for reading/commenting! I appreciate it. I'm about to start your new TR!

Looks like you had a great trip! I do not know if I would be brave enough to go to Disney over New Years, but your report makes it very appealing ::yes::

Love the pictures, I am not big into photography so it is nice to see Disney in a creative way

I hope you get to go back soon, if you do and write another report I will be sure to follow along!

I came over here per nilla's recommendation, and he was right! What a great report and your pictures are stunning. The ones of the Beast's Castle were amazing and I LOVE the Haunted Mansion pictures, as that is my favorite ride of all time. Anywhere. My kids don't love it, but they don't cry either, so we make them go on it.

I also had to LOL at your description of the kids in It's Tough to Be a Bug. Mine started screaming last time we went, and all my husband and I did was laugh hysterically at them. Bad parents!

Anyway, I hope you get to go on another trip so I can read another report!

If I could figure out how to start a PTR and a TR I would! For the life of me I can not figure out even where to begin to create a new forum. :surfweb:

Go to the Trip Report page (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18). I think PTRs have a separate page.

Click the "New Thread" button on the left side, above all of the report names. That's it!

There, you have no more excuses. Get writing! ;)

Thank you! Now I just need to find my photopass CD from last December :magnify:

I will get it started within the next few days!

AWESOME!! Thanks Nilla for all the help/promo of my trip report.
I'll be looking for your trip report MonsterWDWmom!! :thumbsup2
