Oof - cost of adding on a park day or two prior to cruise

It's hard for me not to do at least one day at the Magic Kingdom if I am cruising out of Port Canaveral. It is pricey though. On our last cruise though I bit the bullet and did it (had my one day MK fix). And actually it was the most fun day I've had at the Magic Kingdom ever and I've been going since 1971 (DH didn't go to the park, but I spent the day in the park with my son and nephew, both in their 20s -- we rode the little mainstreet buses and waved to everyone, we got our photos taken with two princesses, we did the Pirates of the Caribbean Scavenger Hunt -- so fun to be adults all acting like kids). One day tickets have high cost per day prices. I just link of it as an expensive cruise excursion. It's less than a waterpark day at Atlantis in the Bahamas (lol see I can find ways to rationalize spending the money).

But do what works with your family vacation budget. I typically though end up upping my budget to fit at least one park day in. But my son and I are both HUGE MK fans. And my nephew lives in Orlando, so I that was a fun way to visit with him since we were in town.

If you are planning a near future longer stay trip to WDW, I think it's harder to justify. If you don't know when or if you'll be there again, a one day fix is sure fun and easier to justify. And that's the boat I was in.
